Joined the cult as ssBibliophile sometime in May of 2011, when I downloaded and played my single player survival game (version: ? | seed: Arcturus). Was hooked about 3 hours in, after my first dramatic near-death experience:

** As I turned to close the door behind me....a ninja-creeper (no hiss, no warning, just *BOOM* - still don't know how he got in the house) blew me and the cobble wall and front door of my cliff-side house towards the water.
** was startled by the cow that seemed to appear from nowhere and looking as surprised as me as we fell.
** was VERY startled by the sharp jolt from my body hitting stone.

After much reconstruction: apparently, the suicidal cow and I (no idea where the cow came from; did the creeper herd them?) landed on the head of yet another creeper who had been heading up my stairs. His explosion finished off what little remained of my beautiful (-seeming, at-the-time) cobblestone front wall; literally eviscerated the cow. In a demonstration of the power of Lady Luck, the would be assassin killed himself, but vented most of the explosion into the cow and falling cobble and himself. I landed on my feet but with only 1 heart left beating.

I knew then that I loved this game .
