Pretty much every single Party plugin uses that corner.
But its awesome! Thank you very much
kk, next todo: move to the right corner!
Looks great but the map is really massive. Will we be able to scale it in a config file or s.th.?
And since it's client side: Do you have something like key-pressing-events?
What I would LOVE to see is a full screen map on pressing 'M'. Or even better a full screen, but transparent map while holding 'tab', like in Diablo 2. <3
Transparency is something I'm not 100% on how to acheive, but eventually should totally be possible!
Testing currently on spout server version 582 and the most recent dev build as of December/2/2011, plugin didnt display in /plugins. Most information i can give you at the moment.
will it end up having cords on it or way points like zan mini map or rei's?
Could you place the required CB and Spout versions in the OP?
planning on adding full screen map ?
something like DynMap but ingame
That seems a bit much, I suppose I could just steal dynmap's tiles.
How exactly do you switch corners? Mine only shows in the upper right hand corner. Is it able to be move to the left?
great addon. can't wait to see what else can be made with spoutcraft
It's looking really cool
Is this the first and only Spout addon? Can't find any other ones.
Looks nice in the later screenshots, but the download is the same as in the first screenshot. You should upload a new version, the one you have uploaded is kind of ugly.
Is there functionality in the Spout plugin that allows downloading addons automatically from the server side? It would be neat if, when Spout addons get popular, I could have a set of addons on my server that everyone gets automatically
Spout has a website, and addons are like plugins, and anyone can make them. http://getspout.org/ They have a nice section for addons.
download link seems to be broken... getting 404 error.
Check the Spout Forums. There are a few.
This is actually the plan. Addons are experimental at the moment because we are fixing bugs, adding features, and want to get some people testing them. Codename_B's minimap looks pretty awesome.
No thanks to me
Now that I look at it, it might look better if the map holder was a bit darker. It looks a bit pale at the moment.
@codename_B Tell me if you want it changed and I can do it.
Too bad it's empty (along with the textures section). Would be neat if they got really popular so people could use the Spoutcraft client's built in databases for all their texture/mod needs.
I figured so. It does look pretty cool indeed (at least the newer screenshots). I haven't been using Spoutcraft for very long but I noticed they added the addons feature very recently, so I'm hoping it turns out to be everything they hyped it up to be. (the be-all and end-all of mod frameworks). I always liked Modloader but it did seem like a lot of mods required modding MC class files in addition to adding their own class file. It would be nice if Spout allowed almost any kind of mod without any class file modding.
@codename_B Your latest screenshots of the addon look similar to Zan's Minimap but you should make it more like Rei's Minimap - it's superior to Zan's, and looks nicer. (biome shading, terrain smoothing, mob radar, etc.). Also, you should make it support Zan's Minimap textures (load from the same files if they exist), so existing texture packs with Zan's Minimap compatibility will work with it. I like the border Zan's Minimap uses, but Rei's Minimap has a more plain gray border, unsure if that's changeable, however I doubt you can find a better border texture than the one in Zan's Minimap, since it fits so perfectly, so you might as well use that one and allow texture packs to change it.
Your minimap has great potential,
@Afforess It would also be nice if Spout had Modloader/ModloaderMP support. I know that's a lot of work, but if it automatically worked with existing mods it would instantly be a lot more attractive. A lot of people won't use Spoutcraft because it doesn't support the mods they want to use.
That's not going to happen for well explained reasons.
not sure if your more likely to watch here but i'll report it here. if you press the m key while chatting it causes the map to go through the different zoom levels. I would assume thats an easy fix though.
There no "keybindings" for spout so I have to do this manually.
Once keybindings are added, I'll be able to change that.
Getting this error on launch:
(all I need to do is add the jar to my plugin folder right)

It's not a plugin, it's an addon...
the downlaod link is broken 404 error
Download from github.
it works now, but it's sooo big ? Also it doesn't have that cool border texture I saw in some of the screenshots on this thread .... If it can be a little smaller and have that border texture it would be pretty much perfect (Oh and a way to disable that red line as you move, I don't need it )
I would also like to configure it myself, disable this red line, change the size, disable coordinates, and btw optionally change the texture of the frame.
Also, hope a day we'll be able to force addons to players.
Yep this is more exactly what Id like to see
Make glass transparent (invisible is fine)
Make wool colored.
Pretty please make it smaller, give us the option to remove coords and red tracker and add a nice border like the one in zanminimap!
