[WIP] HarryPotterSpells

Hey everyone,

Some of you may remember HarryPotterSpells, which was started last summer by kezz101 and I. Unfortunately, the project fizzled out and was never completed.

However, we are back and ready to start up again! We have decided to recode the plugin and make it modular, allowing users to install extensions and choose which components they'd like to use.

So, what do we need? We want any developers, however experienced you may be, to give us a hand with this awesome plugin! If you're interested, join our IRC channel (#harrypotterspells on irc.esper.net) and talk to us

Whilst I may not have time to contribute massive time to the core plugin (although I can add bits), I'd be more than happy to work on extensions and components when it's ready

 

This was a fun project to work on. Let's see what else we can add to it.

 

I'd love to help/learn, but I really don't have that much experience. Do you have a possible job for me?

 

We have a job for everyone! Even if you don't know Java at all we have a job. Head over to the IRC and we'll chat.

Awesome! We may want to have a testing/demo server for the plugin soon, since it is really fun to play around with


To everyone else who wishes to help:
Great! We really appreciate all the help we can get! Join our IRC channel, take a look at the Trello board, and you can code away We have a couple of spells waiting to be coded; tomorrow, we will be adding more spells and work on splitting things into extensions.

 

Are you using github? I hate github.

 

Why do you hate github ;/ it's good.
Also you have to use github to fork it and make a pull request so I:

 

i just do, it never works for me.

 

kezz101 I'm in, let me know what I can do to help, I'll do what I can. I don't have that much free time, but I'll do what I can.

I can't be there for awhile Not getting home for another couple hours. Hopefully someone is in the IRC channel... If not, know I am there in spirit

 

I am here, but people keep coming on and leaving before I notice them

 

I like the concept and idea of this plugin, but I wouldn't really have the skill to do any of the things required

 

We are working on things as simple as making new spells to using reflection and doing hacky stuff. Hop on the IRC if you want and np98765 or kezz101 can find something for you to do

 

I'm not really contributing much any more, for the most part, I think I'll just hang around in the background and insult people who use static
