Which plugins? Please help.

I will be installing CraftBukkit on my server in a few days and I want to know which plugins I need to:

Have ranks (Builder, resident, etc.)
Make sign elevators,
Maintain effective jails,
Make sign teleporters (prefferably a one-way variant)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

 

Okay if your new I'd suggest that you watch tutorials on youtube as to how you install each plugin.
For ranks i'd suggest 'Permissions 3' it allows you to create 'Groups'. You can give each group a name and a prefix which will be displayed before their name. Eg for me in chat it says "[*OWNER*] ChrisDRob:". You can allocate each group certain permissions as to what they can do - what commands they can use, whether they can build or not, etc. Permissions 3 has been considered slightly tricky so you may want to watch some video tutorials, on the permissions 3 thread there is a video tutorial available as part of a popular plugins tutorial series. Despite it's difficulty to understand, it is an absolute essential plugin to have. (I recommend you install this first and get the hang of it)

As for Jails, I have a use a very good plugin that goes well with permissions and it's group system.

Sign teleports I'd actually suggest ButtonWarp which is a nice plugin that allows you to create a button that warps a player to a set warp location. and ofcourse you can always add a sign above the button to notify the player where it will warp them to.
