Update (Oct 27 @ 10:24 PM EST): We've just pushed out our first CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.4.2 development build, see this post for more information.

With the Minecraft 1.4 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.4. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the rapid release of preview builds for the impending 1.4 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.4.2. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.4 preview was made available to the public, each new preview build leads to delays in our update process as we, essentially, need to start over with each one.

In the past releasing a Recommended Build has caused apparent confusion within the community, as a result for this release, and moving forward, we will follow the "Dev -> Beta -> Recommended Build" release methodology. We are going to release a Beta build as soon as we can get a stable build devoid of any significant bugs.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.3.2 builds, we have promoted a new Recommended Build recently. This was done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.4 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.3.2 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

Thank you Bukkit staff for all your hard work.
Take your time on releasing the next version, as I prefer it being stable than rushed with bugs.

Actually, your questions here and your posts here do not affect the development speed of bukkit.
The bukkit developers (I believe there's three?) do not actively moderate the forum, so far as I've seen.

However, the dedicated moderators that do manage the bukkit forums do have to get tired of the inane/stupid questions, or re-answering questions that have been answered hundreds/thousands of times.

    So.. you're chattering aimlessly?
The cool thing about forums with multiple boards, is that you can create new threads in appropriate locations.
Don't be surprised when you're posting in the wrong location and don't get a response.

    My, aren't we important.

No. I'm just inquiring as to something I might find interesting and useful to know.
Not trying to say that. Just saying that they've had time to answer other questions, so why not mine.

Even when new, I read the original post and realized how much work was put into it, never asking them to 'hurry up' or saying that I 'need it now'

    They have no excuse >_>

Well, I'm someone who does look to see if it has been answered before I ask the question. I was looking for an answer to this same question and this post is what I found.

It might have saved you a few seconds and a bit of heartache to link to where it has been answered instead of just making a complaint.

can u finish it to day becuse all of my freand's are saying to me can you get the update today and all of my player on my creftbukkit server want to go on the 24/7 pvp server so can u finish like in about 2 hour's
  14. Not ideal for many but there are a few that find it useful.

As for me I'll stick with Vanilla for now. Updating immediately to 1.4.2 seems to have attracted so many players with other servers being inaccessible.

Geez will all the whiners just shut up. If you want the release sooner then donate to the project and be patient. Otherwise demand a refund, oh wait bukkit is free, don't you look foolish.
To the dedicated programmers and administrators of the bukkit team your work is truly appreciated by the vast majority of us out here whether player, server admins or plug-in creators. Thank you for your hard work and please don't let the few bad apples reflect poorly on all of us who understand the blood you have shed for our fun.

the hack do not crash the server
it just crash the client when you but something from 1.4 in your inventory
this is what you get in the client when you use it

    Crash report (open)

(EDIT by H31IX: Put that image in a spoiler for ya, it's a bit large ;))

this is what comes in the server

well, at least a new dev buils for 1.3.2 was released today... why?
  24. Offline

They were automatic nightly builds, no changes were made. Progress is being made on 1.4.2 builds, not old ones.

    Unofficial Bukkit 1.4 FAQ:
    • Q: When will Bukkit 1.4 be released?
    • A: When the Bukkit team have finished it, which will be when they have finished it, if you can't wait, maybe go decompile all of Bukkit, then try do it yourself, and by the time your finished, we will be on 9.00.1
    • Q: How do people have servers that are 1.4.2 which have Bukkit?
    • A: They don't. It's a edited Bukkit version, which allows 1.4.2 clients to join 1.3.2 servers, it is highly not reccomended, so don't ask for how to do it, or a download link!
    • Q: Why can't Bukkit hurry up?
    • A: Because they are already going as fast as they can, and asking them to go faster won't help, it will just annoy them.
    • Q: Why doesen't Bukkit work with Mojang?
    • A: Because if they did, then Mojang would have to employ Bukkit, which then means they would need to be paid, and that means Mojang is losing money, so then they might, just might start charging for your precious Bukkit, and you don't want that, you can't even donate $1, let alone $30 odd dollars for something that was already free, but you asked to change.
    • Q: Why can't they just get a early release?
    • A: They do. But it doesn't help much, as effectively, after every release, they have to restart, as the code gets Obfusucated again, which scrambles all the code, and hides how they code the game to stop people from stealing there work.
    • Q: Can I add something to your FAQ?
    • A: Certainly, just Personal Message me, or quote me!
