When will CraftBukkit for 1.3 be released?

With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

99.99% of the people who would click on the link are people who continuously ask for Bukkit's update. I wanted to lighten the mood for all the people that constantly try to defend Bukkit's developers by giving them a laugh. You obviously take mc way to seriously...

The kids are like everyone else honestly, there's some good ones, and there's some **** heads. That being said, generally adults take a much more structured play style than kids and that's beneficial to server population stability and quality of builds. Although to be fair, I've seen some pretty awesome stuff made by kids. *shrug* I help my oldest boy admin his server (he's 13) and the majority of the players are decent, even the young ones... but there's always at least one entitled asshat around.

Would either of you like to play Minecraft? I am kinda bored ATM and I would be happy to make another world on my server for us to play on :p

You put it that way with the whole "minds thinking alike deal", then I guess anyone who plays Minecraft has a mind like us. I have to stop you there and disagree. Though, rejoice for the few who do have a sane mind.

It's also funny how I just wrote a whole paragraph about that 2 pages ago and already people are talking about it

Feel free to hit me up on Steam. http://steamcommunity.com/id/MrDesu/

Also, for the impatient whiners this is a good idea of what to do with your time!

Serious is the wrong word. I take aspects of it seriously and when I'm not in the game and I'm doing something minecraft related its usually administrative and not my favorite. So I can't say I'm in a lighter sort of mood. All thats happening now is the older people are online now bickering about the annoying little kids who went to bed by now.

And the reason why I must be seeing a bunch of people like me is why would any other type of person be here? Well rarely they would but I guess that's why

That would be epic I would Be extremely proud if they got it done by the end of the week! :D

... and that is what "mute" "ipban" and "ban" are for. :)

Haha that's what I'm planning to do since almost my entire server is made up of them

Another person with a voice of reason. As for someone who said age limit for Bukkit, I think that would limit a lot of young developers (Not all of us 13 year olds are bad [I'm 13, btw.], And let me apologize for how awful my generation is) to what they could be able to create. But yes, I agree for the IPban/Forum ban thing. I ban on my server for disrespect. It's a free service. Don't complain.

A good credential.. but if you don't know how to code I suppose that doesn't make you a terrible terrible person

Lol; for me, my server is just whitelisted with all of my friends outside of minecraft. It's real nice to not have to worry about griefers, and annoyances.

If you look at half the people posting on this thread, they joined today. lulz.

I hope a dev build hits by the weekend so plugin authors can get started updating out of date items, but whenever they're done is good enough for me. They do this without pay out of love of the game, so I don't feel any need to pressure them. They always get the releases out in fair time and I'd rather have them happy, satisfied, and not burnt out.

Same here. It's really disappointing to me to see other people my age that can't tell the difference between a mouse and a monitor. It is so annoying to see people that don't know how to read things that have been posted 100's of times. Coming from a long history of community management, I really feel sorry for the moderators and dev team overall. People here really don't have the right to complain about a slow release. After all, it's done for free.

True for me because I'm tired of just reading the things..but I have no idea for anyone else..I never bothered to check why would I?

I really hope none of the Bukkit team is reading most of these posts, they would probably discourage them, and make them work slower (which is almost impossible, considering how hard they're working for all of us).

Any line of work you do, you'll deal with stupid people. I did online radio for a while and even there there were stupid people who did stupid things for stupid reasons. You can't escape it no matter how hard you try. Best thing to do is ignore them and keep on doing what your doing and have fun with it with the people who actually care for the work you've put all your tireless effort into.
  28. Offline

I agree on that too. But sometimes it becomes so big an issue in everyday MC that you just have to vent it..well that's my reason for discussing it
  29. Offline

Completely true haha; this forum went from 1.3.1, to annoying minecrafters, and then to our age groups and how annoying they are

MrDesu you've earned one of the few likes I've ever given away. Though you probably don't care. But I'm very sparing about the likes I give ;O. hats off to you.

As somebody said earlier, I suppose donations make up for some of the douchebaggery ;)
