When will CraftBukkit for 1.3 be released?

With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

Anyone have a TARDIS? I'm sure theres a plugin to do that somewhere

No, it's a paraphrased Steam conversation :D They understand. Also, offering to respawn precious things in return for a brand new world and keeping quiet works WONDERS!

The new ores will only appear into chunks that have yet to be generated - meaning: chunks that have never been loaded into memory.

If you have a bordered map that has been fully explored, this could potentially pose an issue.
It also depends on if 'emerald ore' is that much of a hang-up for you, as I don't feel it really adds that much to the game. If you have any sort of newer world or mining based world, you should be good to go.

Newly spawned villagers (using spawn eggs) will randomly be assigned their professions/trades.

Ok karl see yet again you delibertaely remain obtuse to the point at hand. I seriously doubt the poster of that comment meant that he was in anyway qualified to mod or update or whatever the fuck we r waitng for at this point. But if you open your eyes you may see his point. If he, you, or I were to say, voluteer our time at a soup kitchen then we fail to show up, whether we were getting paid for it or not it is our obligation to do this task. The people we let down would be aggravated and maybe even angry with us for failing to do what we OBLIGATED ourselves to do. And please explain, and take your time I know you need to look up the big words, but please explain how the hell this has anything to do with someones house catching fire? and lastly, they cannot be bothered to take the time to respond to this? well isn't that what little lackeys like you are for Karl? And again I repeat... asking someone to do something they themselves offered to so for whatever reason then expecting them to do is in what way a slap in the face?

That is where you hope you have run your server with enough integrity or at least enough "draw" to entice them to want to come back again.

You just need to ensure you are involved with your people, to let them know you are worth coming back to.

I have no worries about Bukkit releasing yet another quality update that has only served to better and enhance our experience in all of this.

Remember that the Bukkit team is just as much at the mercy of Jeb and his team's decisions for the most part.
The fact that we get some a well worked modification and have it provide us with so many aspects and options is great. Meanwhile we all get to have fun with the "Update Blues" as many of us won't speak to one another again until 1.4 :)

That's the point i was getting across PunJedi - If you are an efficient admin, you don't need to worry about Bukkit being released a little later than expected. Because, if you have loyal players that you treat with respect; there is no problem.

Edit: Also, it was directed about people panicking about losing players due to a Bukkit release being later than planned. It's simply not a valid excuse :D

Well if you read the real meaning of this topic (the first post) It'll show the real meaning of this post - Which surely isn't server advertisement

    Quick question to the devs.

Were the devs working on the CB since the pre-release?

Or was work started furiously this morning when Official 1.3 came out?

Just asking because I have noticed from a few of the team that it sounds like the mad dash started "recently"
and not the week ago that pre-release came out.

there is one persan who got a 1.3.1 bukkit server but its dangruase to download
  30. Offline

once again, i was not advertising my server, not once did i post an ip or say join my server. i made a request for someone to help me run my servers and update them when the builds release..........
  31. Offline

It's not a 1.3.1 bukkit server. It's an API which has been modified to display incorrect version info, or accept 1.3.1 players.
    Definately worth avoiding!
