When will CraftBukkit for 1.3 be released?

With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

Arguing for or against the server admin morals just ends up making you look like an idiot either way. I support warns/bans of people who partake.

Omg, stop being stupid. mbaxter gave you an answer, questioning the authority of a Forum Moderator isn't doing you any favours.

You're derailing the topic with silly debate. Take it off this topic.

Since folks seem to have an issue with the definition of some basic terms.

Morality (from the Latin moralitas "manner, character, proper behavior") is the differentiation of intentions, decisions, and actions between those that are good (or right) and those that are bad (or wrong)

I don't believe anyone was discussing morals. I was defending a simple "it's all gravy" statement while at the same time posting my concern for the actions of MOJANG not BUKKIT.

Why do people even bother typing full explanations?

Would it have been better had I just said....

"FUUU Bukkit! FUU MOJANG! Fix all the things nau!!!! 1.3.2.. out yet?!?"

Speaking of warns/bans, what about this guy? He won't stop spamming that message, and he's either a troll, or an idiot.

Either way, I think few want him on this thread right now

Yes, just obtain a 1.2.5 minecraft.jar from somewhere, go to %appdata% - roaming - .minecraft - bin, and replace the 1.3 jar with the 1.2.5 jar.

    • You were warned to drop it
Nice, I digress. Way to come after someone who was actually keeping on topic. Meanwhile the 10 pages of "Is 1.3 out yet" spammers saw nothing.

    Good day.

Not going to respond to Pun's post, as I don't want to upset the mods.
I get where he's coming from, and I don't agree with him entirely, but I'm willing to agree to disagree.

I'm the sole administrator on my server, I don't have moderators, I personally respond to every help request, every private message, every forum post, e-mail, in-game mail, etc. My original point was, and is, it doesn't matter what you put in to the -community- it's still completely unrelated to bukkit or mojang, overall.

That's the last I'll say on it, we've gotten quite horribly off topic.

C'mon now, I don't think we were, at any point, intentionally impolite to each other. Just opinionated. [cake]

I think you are just sitting here waiting to add in a quip to look like the funny-guy-hero-dude. Wait... I kinda just did that too. But still.

Well you could delete your current minecraft.jar (in %appdata%) and if you see a minecraft1.2.5.jar change it to minecraft.jar, then your set to go!

But people WERE discussing morals, more evident in Toxic's posts and its responses. They were arguing over how 'right' or 'wrong' server admins were for complaining, not about the complaining itself, which is just silly. I have no idea why you assumed he was talking about YOUR discussion...

Sorry mbaxter, I was typing this while you warned him to drop it ^_^

Hm. Not sure why the mods are getting upset. Everyone is being quite civil, intelligent, and yes, opinionated. I think these kind of debates are quite healthy, and at the end of the day, we all walk away with more than when we arrived. Granted, a percentage of the readers/trollers here probably don't understand a word of what's being said, but alas. I don't think anyone is doing anything wrong, or even nearing grey areas. It's just big-boy speak and I think it scares some peeps.

Im sure there is a way. I cant say if there is a way on my forums in this post but if you some how get the link I cant stop you.

Perhaps the debate is healthy. This thread is about 1.3.1 release, not about any topic in that debate.

That I apologize for as I wrongly assumed in the timing of response. I ignored toxc's foul responses or any of those for any matter as I was honestly trying to stick with the "discussion" at hand.

Sadly it wasn't seen that way and now I have been reprimanded. Nice. I did not see we had so strayed from the 1.3 convo as we were discussing its IMPACT on our servers. How is that not relevant?

What else would this post continue on with aside from the foul responses and constant "out yet?" spam.

Future note? Maybe make the big post and close the thread, otherwise those like myself may see it as an opportunity to "discuss"

CraftBukkit 1.3.1 will be done when it's done. there is no ETA. Please be patient. You are not the only one waiting, and shouting in the devs' ears to "HURRY UP HURRY UP HURRY UP" will result in nothing. It will be done when it's done, and out when it's out.
