When will CraftBukkit for 1.3 be released?

With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

I think he means that we want unrestricted access to your webcams and microphone.
We must observe you whilst you work.

There's a shameless plug if I ever saw one.

Well again, you make it sound as if running a large server is just a walk in the park. I won't continue debating that aspect as you have no clue the amount of time and dedication I and my staff have put into in the last year. You don't just "run" a minecraft server, you manage a large community.

And your lil email trick does nothing if they dont go to forums/register. We don't run whitelist, and as I say many times (but no one reads my long posts) that I am aware of the workload I take on, many of us larger servers do.

BUT, it would be NOTHING for the those who made their millions off of US consumers to throw us a bone, Get it?

I must be a bit of a jaded tool, then. I see that particular message in the log and chuckle to myself quietly. :)

Ya I hope some of mine don't either, once CraftBukkit updates I plan on seeing which plugins need updating and which don't :)

I have a feeling that some of the plugins on my server "essentials, LWC, WorldEdit, WorldGuard, etc" are still gonna work, but some like Multiverse are most likely gonna break on me. :\
  16. Offline

    why will MultiVerse break?

    I agree :/

Multiverse is real real touchy, about everything..

it's really sensitive to code changes, it could break also because of the new Adventure Mode.

I run two large 60 player, heavily modded servers, with an average of 50 active players at any given time.
Setting up and maintaining those servers is, has been, and likely always will be "a walk in the park".
I'm sorry if performing basic edits on config files is difficult for you.

I haven't seen a plugin yet that is difficult to set up. Bukkit itself requires no configuration.
Unless you're personally coding your own plugins for your server, there's no logical way that it could be difficult to manage or maintain, unless you're referring to the actual act of managing the community, which has nothing to do with bukkit, and nothing to do with maintaining a server.. they are different.

I maintain a full gaming group with voice chat servers, enjin based website, dedicated wikis for our servers, along with a host of other features. All part of a large community, all completely irrelevant when it comes to bukkit or bukkit updating.

By all means, stop debating with me. You're not going to get anywhere, as I'm likely never going to admit that you are right, and you're going to just start sounding silly.

You complain about this horrendous information gap.. yet all of this information is publicly available on so many platforms, it's ridiculous. There are so many resources and so many methods available to provide information to users, just because you don't personally embrace them doesn't mean they don't exist.

You choose to run a server, or to run a gaming group. It isn't bukkit's responsibility, or Mojang's responsibility to hold your hand and walk you through it, or to deal with every single player that plays on your server.

When I visit your website, I don't see any information in your news feed about the 1.3 update. I don't see any information publicly available about what your users should do in regards to the update.
I do see a HUGE image regarding your buycraft packages. It shows what is clearly important to you, and also indicates to me the source of your concern and ire towards Mojang for profiting off of the game that they developed. Jeaaaaalousy! :)

Any warping solution could be an adequate temporary replacement for traveling between worlds, I believe Essentials has features that could adequately replace this, or something like MyWarp (it never seems to break with the updates).
  24. Offline

I sure hope Multiverse doesn't break! we rely on portals to get around on my server "travel to different maps." If it does break, Hopefully it won't take to long for multiverse to update.
  25. Offline

ahh ok, I use the MultiInv on mine. I don't mind running one map until it's updated :)
  26. Offline

    I like using WorldPortal :p

Will multi inv delete all the invintories if i was to update it, sorry im confused..
