Ubuntu Server 11 "Not enough memory" Error

    whenever i try to run my server i get the error

    alex@belmurtoc:~/Bukkit$ ./minecraft.sh
    Can't start up: not enough memory

    i just upgraded to ubuntu server 11 i was running ubuntu 10 gui and it was working fine then HELP

    P.S. i am runing this as root and the has a gB of ram
