sorry i'm confused does it create mods for bukkit or make it so you can use the mod on the bukkit server???

You have to download a mod.
Then, MineMod will install this mod so you can use it.
If you have any other issues, don't bother to ask me.

Well, I'm about to give it a thorough test. Anyway, more than anything, my biggest issue is documentation (or lack there of). You need to be more specific about what it can do. Like if you can port vanilla mods to bukkit and what not.

Tested it with bukkit 1.1. R3. Uhmmm... In fact, it didn't seem to install ANY mods (not even modloader), and removed the meta-inf file, so at first it was considered an invalid/corrupt jar file, so after re-adding the metainf folder, it loaded with no mods. =/

EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.

1 tested it with modloader, TooManyItems,.... on minecraft and it seemed to work. I was also able to lad some files into bukkit.
You mods should be compatible with your Bukkit/Minecraft version!

    Will try some mods myself

Fixed a bug that caused the mods not to load, works fine now. Download is updated.

Okay mate. Still trying to use it.

    CB1.1R3, MineMod 1.0.0.1
    Attempting to load mods:
    ModLoader MP 1.1
    Forge 1.3.2.1
    IndustrialCraft 2 1.64
    BuildCraft 2.2.12
    RedPower 2.0pr4d

I've also tried loading it to just modloadermp with failures.

    1) You still are not preserving Meta-Inf. *IF YOU DELETE THIS FILE IN A SERVER FILE, IT BECOMES A CORRUPT/INVALID .JAR*. You only ever delete meta-inf in client files.

    2) You made it seem as though this ported the mods for bukkit. I hoped, nay, prayed this was true. However...

You can't run minceraft mods on a bukkit server :(

I didn't know from the meta-inf, will add an option to preserve it. probably something for tomorrow

You can run MineCraft mods on bukkit. www.mcportcentral.co.za is a community dedicated to porting minecraft mods to bukkit. The thread that I found that you had linked this tool (a useful tool, but needs work yet) on was a thread asking about porting mods. If you can make a tool that automates the porting process, you would be a god.

Still, good job making a tool for those who have issues modding their game.

P.S. Did you never test the server files you modded with this tool? You would have known about the meta-inf then.

uploaded v1.0.0.2, with the option to remove/conserve META-INF.
I originaly made this for minecraft, and modified it to support other files. I tested with some server mods when i made the port, and they did work...

To remove meta-inf, check "Remove meta-inf" checkbox.

however, this should do it. Thanks for your feedback!

I don't think this is possible, however, I could take a look into this...
in that case I would need 2 or 3 mods that are ported, with an exact list of things that changed. I guess every mod has to be ported manually...

hey man, this is exactly what ive been looking for!! thank you for the work you put into making it! my only suggestion is if you could possibly create a way to revert changes, for instance if the mods create an error on bootup of the game there could be an option to remove mods which were just inserted. I suppose something like mcpatcher where you can "unpatch"

if you can that'd be great!

*edit: I checked out minemod with some mods, I was wondering if i'm supposed to run this with the original minecraft or if it works with spoutcraft... my original understanding was that it ran minecraft mods on spoutcraft but now im not so sure... also do i set the minecraft.jar or spoutcraft.jar file as the location when I install them?

the mod I want is "custom npc's" one found on: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/833003-11-custom-npcs-01011-wip/page__hl__noppes

I don't think this works with spout. You need a .jar file to mod, you can try to mod the launcher but I am almost sure that won't work :/

    The program accepts zip files.
You should drag the mods in the program.
The file to mod (e.g. bukkit) is the one you select in the upper bar

I dragged the mod i wanted to install (little blocks) into the minemod but when I started the server it said
    >Warning: mod_LittleBlocks.class is in the wrong folder <won't be loaded>.
any ideas why its doing that?

I'm confused.. does this program install mods or plugins?

  23. Offline

    Bertware

    It installs mods.

Probably this mod is packed different, so instead of littleblocks.jar/[files] the archive might look like littleblocks.jar/littleblocks/[files]
I'll try it myself tomorrow, to see what causes this
