Why is this happening?

 

Can you post your server.properties file?

 

Failed to verify username is when a cracked user or pirated user with a fake username trys to log into you server, this minecraft username database cannot find him in the database, and tells your.server to kick him out.

 

I can confirm this bug is happening WITH valid accounts such as mine.

It's not. notice it's an NPE (Null pointer exception). So it's a code problem.

 

I'm getting this intermittently... any ideas on a cause?

I'm getting this too. Even has a NullPointer, I'm assuming it has to do with the auth system back at mojang.
