So there is nothing like this yet?
Hmm, might have to try and code it myself... :)

Recently I started a Tekkit server, all went well until the dreaded:"[WARNING]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?' error poped up out of nowhere.

Before anything else, let me give you a quick glance at the server's hardware:

Processor - Intel Xeon E3-1230 4 Cores (8 HT Cores)
    RAM - 16 GB DDR3
    HDD - 120 GB SSD
Internetz speed - 100Mbps Unmetered connection.
Running on Ubuntu Server 12.xx - can't remember at the moment.

    List of plugins currently installed:

The current world is limited at 3.000 block distance from the spawn point and is about 10 MB large.

    The player limit is 25.
The RAM allocations is as follows: java -Xmx10G -Xms4G -jar Tekkit.jar nogui

I've found a thread related to this issue on the forums,
Overall I'm a little skeptical if this will work.

    I'm asking 2 things only:
    1. What are the general causes of this error and how will it affect server performance?
    2. Is there any way to solve this problem?

P.S. I forgot to mention I'm using some "costume" mods to solve some exploits of tekkit:

I had a server last year, and everything worked perfectly, however I kept it off during the entire summer. Now i've been trying to put it back up, but i've had a lot of trouble. My problem is that once I start up the server, I don't get any errors, but I can only connect from computers on my home network, And when I do I get the lowest amount of bars (connection), even on the computer that is running the server. (i get this same connection when i connect using localhost, my ip, and my router's ip.) This in of it self wouldn't be a problem if my friends could get onto my server, however they can't. I've opened the minecraft port on my router, and i am using the current recomended build; . I have no idea what is wrong, and I would greatly appreciate some help.

right also i'm using these mods: essentials, group manager, multiverse portals, stargate, worldportal, world edit

Your map is huge but that's not the problem the problem is damp rendering such a huge map when day map it self uses a lot of CPU usage

Have u checked if the ports are open?

    I meant to write 10 MB...damn typos -.-
Ok, scratch that. I just looked at the map file size again and apparently it's 305 MB in size (!). I look at it about 2 days ago and it was a whooping 8 MB large...I have no idea how this is even possible.

And the CPU usage is at a constant 1.6GHz out of the 3.2GHz possible.

I'm having trouble with a LAN server. Bukkit runs just fine and I can connect on my computer but no one else can see the server using my internal IP. Although if I open up a single player world to LAN via the vanilla client, people can connect to that. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the router to forward any ports.

    Running craftbukkit-1.3.1-R2.o on Windows 7 64 bit.

    Thanks for any help.

lan means they only can join if they are on your internet. Lan was design for LAN players as well as people using hamachi

Every one is on the same network, that's what's confusing.

Indeed. It's frustrating. I have no idea why the sever won't show up. I've tried different ports, turned off my firewall. Nothin.

When I open up my server, it just says "press any key to continue" and then it just closes!
  16. Offline

What does it say before that line?
    Usually it says;

Unable to acess jarfile (and/or) Unable to access craftbukkit.jar
    press any key to continue.

If this is the case then move your craftbukkit.jar to your server directory then make shure that the name is the same, inside your server.bat and in your server directory.
If this is not the case, then provide a screen shot or your server.log and post it here.

and make sure to show hidden extentions to prevent a craftbukkit.jar.jar

lol a lot of people lately have been assuming minecraft automatically creates multiplayer servers that work online, this is just simply not true, minecraft only creates lan servers (this means only people on your home network can join, hamachi also works as a kind of lan, but lags a lot more.)

Hey Guys! Nice thread, I bet you've helped a lot of people!

Today I will need help finding a plugin to replace WorldGuard for this situation, I have a shops area on my server, and I want to make it so I can make a region inside a region, now, I but you're all thinking "/rg addparent parent child.. But no that won't work because you can only have 1 parent per region, so look at this

[IMG]As you can see I have more than one shop in the Area selected, I want to have the region, No PvP, No Mob-Spawning and No Build, only the owner.

Thanks a lot, Help is appreciated greatly,

My friend has this problem with making a server and I don't know how to fix it. I was hoping I could get some nice help from here :) This is what he said to me: "Whenever I do the run.bat, it just says my computers name over and over again"

I don't know how, but when configuring my plugins I some how managed to change them so that each player is a different rank in each world. e.g "An admin would be 'admin' in the main world, but after travelling to the nether would be a 'moderator'".

Plugins: worldboarder, spectate, groupmanager, safeworldantigrief, worledit, safeworldlogs, permissions, buycaft, vault, lwc, worlguard, safeworldnewplayercontroll, blockcontroll_vault, essentials, protectionstones, essentialsprotect, essentialsspawn, vanishnopacket, essentialschat, anticheat.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I can't believe this has been revived, thank you RedSeamonster !

Nope, you simply revived a thread that went out of business.
    Thank you!
