Hey guys, For those who haven't heard of it, BukkitContrib by Afforess adds new hooks to Bukkit, and one of them edits the Nameplate above a players head. So, using that I was wondering if someone could make it so either: At a basic level, the nameplates are only visible if your within 10 blocks and nothing between you and player, or more advanced, there is a config file that takes groups from Permissions, and sorts them into Teams/Factions/whatever. From that, if you are on the same team as someone, their nameplate appears to you as normal, but if they are an enemy the above rule occurs but ONLY when you have your cursor aimed directly at the player. I don't think this plugin would be too hard to make, either a good first project for someone or something for an experienced dev to take on as an extra something to do. I do think quite a lot of servers would like it though, it would be extremely useful for PvP...
