    Current Version: v2.5.2

    Background:
    This plugin was originally inspired by TrainYourBrain's Vampire plugin. My server used and enjoyed Vampires, but we felt that more fun could be had by having multiple classes; each with their own unique abilities. After a lot of brainstorming, civilized debate, and shouting; we decided to start with an initial release of Vampires, Werewolves, Ghouls and Priests.

    What's new in Version 2:
    Version 2 of Supernatural Players adds the classes of Demon and WitchHunter. Both classes are considered to be Ranged DPS type. Further details can now be found in the Classes list below. Also available is Multi-World support. To use this feature you need to set (multiword: true) in the config.yml. Then set supernatural.world.disabled for all permission groups in the worlds where you don't want the plugin to be active.

    • General Information:
      • Classes include Vampire, Werewolf, Ghoul, and Priest
      • All classes have active and passive abilities that depend on their current power level.
      • Each class has a slightly different method for gaining power (See class details below).
      • Using active abilities and dying both drain a player's power.
      • Each class has unique join and quit events (See class change details below).
      • Your current power/total power determines how well your passive abilities work!

        • Humans construct special Altars to convert to Vampires, starting with a solid Gold Block.
        • Humans sometimes convert to Werewolves when dying to wild wolves at night.
        • Pig Zombies sometimes have the ability to make humans undead rather than just dead.
        • Any human who shows proper devotion to the Church may become a Priest.
        • Non-Priest humans who can prove their Supernatural Hunting Abilities by slaying 3 different types of supernaturals without dying will be invited to the WitchHunters' Association.
        • Humans who enter the Nether covered in dead animal skins (leather armor) and sacrifice themselves to the Inferno will become Demonic.
      • Leaving a Class:
        • Vampires construct special Altars to regain their humanity, starting with a solid Lapis Block.
        • Werewolves must make themselves a Wolfbane potion, starting with an empty Bowl.
        • Priests merely have to insult the Church by offering Coal to the donations' Altar.
        • The Holy energy of the Church's Altar will sometimes cleanse a Ghoul and restore their humanity.
        • Demons who die in icy water while carrying snowballs will find the demonic fire in their blood cooled.
        • WitchHunters who exhibit extremely poor bow skills (kill themselves) will be removed from the Association.

    • Spell Details:
      • The term 'Supernatural' applies to Vampires, Werewolves, Ghouls, and Demons only.
      • All spells will consume the item used to cast them.
      • Priest spells have a range of 20 blocks.
      • Banish will send the target player to the Banish Location set by server admins
      • Drain will remove 15% of the target's current power
      • Heal restores up to 5 hearts of health per cast
      • Cure will restore the target to Humanity (reverting them to Priesthood or making them merely Human) [Both the Priest and the target must be holding Flint for this spell to function]
      • Exorcise also restores the target to Humanity, but does not require the target's cooperation!
      • Teleport to Coven will return the Vampire to a location set by server admins
      • Demons' Snare spell lasts only 10 seconds.
      • Cycle through a WitchHunter's Arrow Types by Left-Clicking with a Bow
      • A WitchHunter's Power Arrow will cause the bow to go into 'cooldown' before you can fire again.
      • Triple Shot is intended to help WitchHunters keep a supply of arrows. If you do not want WitchHunters to gain arrows this way then remove Triple Shot from the config.yml
      • Vampires are immune to sun damage when wearing a Gold Helm
      • Ghouls' Unholy Bond ability allows them to share damage taken with their supernatural target as long as they are close by
      • Priests' Guardian Angel ability will protect their friend from death once

    Setup Steps:
    1. Download .zip file
    2. Unzip files and place in plugins/ folder
    3. Start Server
    4. Go to Church location and use /sn setChurch
    5. Go to Banish location and use /sn setBanish
    6. Create a WitchHunters' Hall by placing an Iron Door with a nearby sign using the term 'WitchHunter' (default)
    Additional Note:
    Most features in this plugin can be changed in the config.yml for balancing or to help prevent conflict with other plugins. However, be warned that improper changes to the config.yml can cause the plugin to fail entirely! Most servers should not have to make any changes to the default settings in order to successfully run Supernatural Players.

    i don't quite get how to make and use a priest altar, could you be more specific with the requirements of altars and how to use them exactly?

    Its really simple.

    1. Choose a spot and place a diamond block.
    2. Do /sn setChurch (you need the permission supernatural.admin.command.setchurch)
    3. Test it out by right clicking on the diamond block. Text should appear.
    4. Create a building if you want, a Church you might say :)

    Hope this is fine with the OP but to add to the fun that is SuperNatural, theres this little plugin called MobDisguise. If you run Spout on your server, the MobDisguise lets you morph into a wolf or a zombie or any other mob. Petty there are no bats in the game :D

    Excuse me, i was simply wondering if you could by any means make it so in the next update aDemon could use Golden armor, and fix a bug where the Demon's Fire ball doesn't seem to cause any damage towards other players.
    Since i noticed how i always got my butt kicked when i engaged in battle as an Demon. :p

    Can you also make it so Demons heal in Fire again? >.> Or make it Configurable? ... Pleas.. :(

    Demon fireball always does damage for us. Try and see if you can find out what causes it to do no damage?

    I'm having a bit of a problem with the Witch Hunter grapple arrow... when I shoot at things with it nothing happens for about a 30-45 seconds before I finally end up teleporting to where I'd shot the arrow. If I shoot it at players or animals it happens instantly. Anyone know how I can fix this?

    @Matterz vampires without helmet still dont catch fire while moving when walking in the sun

    that doesnt happen for me maybe any form of lag?

    I can not replicate this bug. Either you have a plugin conflict or you are giving your players the wrong permission node.

    i didnt give the player any permissions except the default altar use ones
    they do catch fire when standing still
    btw: thundertools + latest version of supernatural players makes my server crash if i use a part of thundertools

    I figured out what was causing the Demon Fireball to do 0 damage: An Anti-Creeper-Explosion plugin was affecting every explosion on my server. lol :p

    Anywayz I thought that perhaps a Demon could fly in the Nether, or jump really far since getting around in there is kinda difficult, and considering the time amount it is spending in the Nether as well . :p
    I know i'm all about demons, but i have not had the time to test any other Supernatrual creatures.

    Im confused as to why you gave Vampires the ability negate the sun dmg, which is like the ONLY downside from vamps.. The not eating food... isnt a big deal cause Regen is soo much.. Its like saying a werewolf could use weapons at night and still get the dmg bonus.. Im just confused as to the thought process to negate the only drawback of a class...

    2ndly, Ghoul Unholy Bond is broken.
    Testing Scenario: Vamp Vs Were with UB.
    Vamp with Diamond sword did 1.5 hearts of dmg with out UB.
    Vamp with Diamondsword did 0.5 hearts of dmg with UB.
    Ghoul took 2.5 hearts of Dmg.
    This is with Full Diamond Armor on All 3 players.

    Conclusion from the testing:
    UB does not take into consideration the DMG reduc or the Said class or Armor that it is bonded with. There is Significant dmg Reduc done If it is placed on a Vamp who is then hit with a Woodsword, no more 2 shotting them, but the DMG done to the Ghoul is soo intensive that In about 3 secs of combat in a 2 v 1 Ghoul / Were Vs 1 Vamp, The Vamp hit the Werewolf, insta gibbed the Ghoul due to UB, and then finished off the Werewolf.

    Solution to the problem:
    Apply the Dmg Split of UB AFTER the dmg is reduce from the Armor and Class Benefits. Then make it split 50 50 or 60 40 how ever you had it set up. This would then Make UB a usable ability that would not insta-kill the Ghoul who is trying to tank. UB Also needs to take into account the Armor the Ghoul is wearing. So there is a 2nd dmg reduction from the player Hit, then also from the Ghoul. IF you want to Negate the Armor worn by the Ghoul that's fine as it would be considered internal or magic dmg which Armor wouldn't negate, IMO. But as of Now UB is broken to an extent that it is an actually detriment to the Ghoul and his allies.

    Yea this is something that a lot of people asked for. If you don't want to include it just change the item in the config to something you can't possibly wear on your head like CHAINMAIL_BOOTS.

    UB IS calculated after all other damage modifiers. It is the very last thing to be considered.

    I'll look into it and see if I can replicate your bug.


    Try running just permissions, worldguard and supernaturalplayers and see if your vampires take damage while moving in the sun.

    I am not familiar with Thudertools, but if you want to post the error from your server.log I can check it out.

    i think thats works. I was just confused.

    No matter what dmg is done to the target of UB the ghoul takes 2.5 hearts.. So ya I tested it extensively... you wanna see my config? maybe that changed it up some cause i did modify the dmg variables.

    • Spell Details:
      • The term 'Supernatural' applies to Vampires, Werewolves, and Ghouls only.
      • All spells will consume the item used to cast them.
      • Priest spells have a range of 20 blocks.
      • Banish will send the target player to the Banish Location set by server admins
      • Drain will remove 15% of the target's current power
      • Heal restores up to 5 hearts of health per cast
      • Cure will restore the target to Humanity (reverting them to Priesthood or making them merely Human) [Both the Priest and the target must be holding Flint for this spell to function]
      • Exorcise also restores the target to Humanity, but does not require the target's cooperation!
      • Teleport to Coven will return the Vampire to a location set by server admins
      • Demons' Snare spell lasts only 10 seconds.
      • Cycle through a WitchHunter's Arrow Types by Left-Clicking with a Bow
      • A WitchHunter's Power Arrow will cause the bow to go into 'cooldown' before you can fire again.
      • Triple Shot is intended to help WitchHunters keep a supply of arrows. If you do not want WitchHunters to gain arrows this way then remove Triple Shot from the config.yml
      • Vampires are immune to sun damage when wearing a Gold Helm
      • Ghouls' Unholy Bond ability allows them to share damage taken with their supernatural target as long as they are close by
      • Priests' Guardian Angel ability will protect their friend from death once

    umm, I don't recommend leaving it blank. You may get a null pointer error at some point.

    I'll check ghouls myself and see. During my last testing session it was working correctly with the ghoul taking very little damage. Something may have broken.

    hmm, I don't know why a player would have infinite power if they don't have either supernatural.admin.infinitepower or * in their permissions.

    Have you made changes to your config.yml? Are you getting any errors in your server.log?

    Give them these permissions:

    supernatural.command.help - access to /sn help
    supernatural.command.list - access to /sn list
    supernatural.command.power - access to /sn power
    supernatural.command.classes - access to /sn classes
    supernatural.command.killlist - access to /sn killlist

    The intended functionality is for the target to modify all incoming damage. Then the damage gets split 50 50 with the ghoul. Then the ghoul gets to apply their damage reduction to their half of the damage.

    Thus if the player would normally take 6 hearts of damage then with UB you'd expect them to take 3 hearts and the ghoul to take ~2 hearts. This is what we observed in our testing.

    This has not worked worth crap for me. Constant permission drop issues where no player but admins can use commands, EVEN THOUGH if I test the permission through the permissions manager it is there and works. Constant complaints about absolutely 0 timed persistence so one crash and everyone is human again. And Yes I have no issues and have never had permission issues my whole time of being a server admin. And to top this all off, no errors and a clean default config!

    Each Class now has a section for Weapon Restrictions and Allowed Armor.

    (Note: Please don't remove AIR from the Armor list. This is equivalent to allowing no armor)
