So I have a fast growing community, and a pretty decent server host/specs with a fairly large map. I currently run a 10k x 10k survival server map on a 60gb SSD and once we reach 30+ people online, the TPS starts dropping and I am getting the "WARNING: Can't keep up!..." messages. I have been doing some research and setting up a RAMdisk keeps popping up, but they are always talking and using very small maps as an example, so I am not sure if this is something I should be doing. Here's some of our server specs: - Intel Xeon E3-1230 3.2GHZ 5GT/S8MB Cache Quad Core L1155 CPU - 16GB Dedicated RAM - 60gb SSD and a 1 TB HDD for backups - Current world map is 3.2Gb (1.8gb compressed) Our current plugin list: -Essentials -Multiverse Core/Portals/Inventory -LWC -McMMO -SimplyVanish -World Border -World Guard -World Edit -EndReset -Vault -MobArena -MagicCarpet -Hatme -ATMsigns -Lottery+ -Automsg -Disguisecraft -SignRank -Stargate -Votifier -FoundDiamonds -NoLagg -SignThatBlock -TimeLock -MobSpawnController -SignShop -CoreProtect -CasinoSlots -Dynmap -MobDisguisePVPControl -MineBackup -Autodisc -BA Spleef -Simple Spleef I guess the main question is, is it even reasonable to setup a RAMdisk when our world is over 3Gb in size? We have 16Gb of RAM, so maybe it is? Wanted to get some opinions... Thanks!
