   I don't mind if only spout users can only see it but how can i set the nameplate?
   I tried player.setDisplayName(newName) with no luck..

   player.setDisplayName() only sets their chat name.
   
   Too much about packets for regular client, but for spout look here:

   Thanks! And maybe this extra feature can get more people on my server to switch to spout, because it's easier on the server.
