Hi, I have a big problem with my bukkit server! People try to play on my server but in their server list my server shows that it is offline, even if they do try to connect however they know it shows offline it doesn't work to connect. My server console starts without any errors and says "Done". I do have plugins but to be sure I downloaded the jar again and started a new server without plugins and I still have the same problem. My bukkit version is 1.4.5-R0.2, (atm the newest beta version). I can't give a console error thing to help me because there are no errors, it just shows offline to others and they can't connect. However I can connect with the IP and with 'localhost'. note: I do not use my own external or internal IP, I use a program called 'Hamachi' to have a new IP so I don't need to portforward or something similar and I'm safe against hackers. This program worked for me since minecraft 1.7.3 for my bukkit server but since the latest updates (1.4.2 & 1.4.4) I have this problem. Anyone had this before? Any suggestions?
Get rid of that horrible program, and get yourself a static IP, then you wont need to port forward all the time
Some people actually have to use hamachi. For example, I can't port-forward in my dorm so the only way I can get people on my test server if I need extra players is to use hamachi.
Ah right, I thought you were one of those 14 year old noobs who don't have the slightest clue how to port forward Um, I have no experience with Hamachi, I thought my first post would of solved it
ok so here's the thing i'm not 14, i'm 16 and i know how i can portforward, i have seen tutorials! but my dad doesn't want me to change things in our router and IP he is not sure about the safety. i respect his choice so i keep my hands of it... you said something about a static ip without portforwarding? what does that mean? like hosting on dedicated servers? if it involves money to get the ip or host then i don't want to, i only host for a small community without donors and i want to keep it that way
If you do what the tutorial says 100% accurately, then it is likely you want mess anything up. It's not actually hard to port forward and there's not that much you can mess up anyway. It will also help if you follow a tutorial that uses the same router as you..
I never said you were No, your only changing your internal IP. Assuming your on a Windows OS, pop into your network adapter settings, and Right Click > Properties your main/default network adapter. Then in the list of protocols, select IPv4, and again click properties. Then click on the button "Use the following IP address", then just change the IP to something like 192.168.0.56 for example (make sure it doesn't conflict with another IP). After that, on the bit where it says "Use the following DNS server" change them both to your router IP. Once that's all done, your external IP should stay the same
there is a tut for my router but as i said my dad doesn't wants it, so i respect his choice and another reason when the router is disconnected or refreshed we have a different ip than before so i would need to portforward every time...
Are the people trying to connect using your hamachi ip given? Or, are they still trying to use your external?
yes i have windows os and how do i know it doesn't conflict with any other IP? can i just use the IP we have right now for the static one? they always used my hamachi ip. oh i forgot to mention hamachi changed the IP's a bit 2weeks ago every IP now starts with 25. instead of 5. but we tried both the old and the new so i guess it doesn't matter EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
Windows will usually popup saying there's an IP conflict, but best to double check with other devices on the network just to be sure
i tried your way with the properties thing but i can't find these settings, do i need to have a direct connection to the router for this or can i do it when i'm on wifi with my laptop?
so you don't use hamachi like me just your own portforwarded IP? I thought i could be hamachi that changed a bit altough it shouldn't affect the free users for gaming they said only the paid users would have changes.
turns out it is a problem of hamachi, the updated and changed ip settings etc and now people can't use the ip for lan gaming and game servers but they are trying to get a solution...
just to understand the problem here...you have your server running, use hamachi, and other can't see your server? You WON't portforward in your router, so they have to use your hamachinetwork? But they ARE on hamachi, too, right? You don't just give them your hamachi-IP letting them try to connect there over internet? Sorry - i couldn't get the info out of this thread what's your setup...
yeah i wasn't clear enough lol but i use hamachi for a long time now so i do know they should be in my hamachi network to get the hamachi IP working for them yeah it could be this simple but nope i know how to do it it worked before the hamachi update :/
yeah they said i need to fix something for gaming over hamachi but it just won't work for me here is the topic: http://community.logmein.com/t5/Hamachi/Gaming-over-Hamachi/td-p/84524
