Hi, I live really far from everything, I live in Australia and im searching for a Minecraft Server hosting solution, but I have no idea what to look for.

I wan't something that good but not over the top expensive.

Something that will return good ping to me in Australia.

    All help would be appreciated.

If you want good ping to Australia you'll need a host that's in New Zealand or Australia. However, prices are usually 4-10 times more expensive there for hardware and bandwidth.

Apparently, If I server in LA, lag won't be that bad?

Yeah, go for something on the US West Coast (San Jose, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles) rather than the US Midwest (Chicago, Kansas City), US Central (Dallas, Houston, Austin), or US East areas (Atlanta, New York, New Jersey).

You probably want to go for Los Angeles or San Jose as they are the farthest down the west coast.

Well, it really depends on how many players you're hosting and the types of plugins you have on your server.

Also more stuff like how many worlds, and if those worlds have borders or not, there's a lot of variance.

You're still looking at 150ms+ pings. Which is very high.

...but pretty much one of your few options/your only option if you want to be conservative economically

There are 2 companies im looking at:

    BeastNode:
    Specs:
    CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1270v2 (3.5GHz w/ 3.9GHz burst)
Drives: Intel 520 Solid State Drives
    RAM: 32GB of DDR3
    Uplink: 1000Mbit (1Gbit)
    OS: CentOS 6 64-bit
    RedRangerHosting:
    Specs:
CPU: Intel XEON E3-1270 Quad Core 3.8 GHz
    RAM: DDR3
    OS Ubuntu 12.04
    Internet Speed: 1GBps
    Java: 7
Hard Disk: RAID 1 configured, enterprise grade HDD

Is there any other company you guys could suggest, that could be a good alternative to these?

What are you trying to get; Dedicated server, VPS, or shared hosting?

You may find my opinion a little bias as I work for a hosting company. I can already tell you that's not the true specs on that server by RedRangerHosting. E3-1270's don't come stock at 3.8Ghz

Well I think I could start off with a shared server because I have no users since I have never hosted a public server.
