    Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
    As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.​
    As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.​
    This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.​

    About:
    Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.​
    Features:
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.

    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.

    Dont you think this plugin would be AWESOME with my request, and World Guard compatibility?!

    This request/plugin hopes using the Infinite Plots Plugin that all those plots would be turned into worldguard/residence zones so you dont have to set them up.

    I keep having trouble to sell or rent areas or subzones.
    Lets make an example. I made a big Residence called City.
    Inside I've 25 houses premade for new users. I want them to be able to buy or rent them, but can't make it.
    I tried with /res subzone City 1 (called the subzone 1)
    Then, /res market sell City.1 400 but makes the City run for X time before the contracts expire and the subzone permanent. Help?

    As a donator to this plugin I would like to see some updates and could you please make your help files better. The average user can't figure out what to do from the lousy help that is provided in game. Setting up a Residence is easy once you figure it all out but I am constantly having to help everyone do it, WHICH IS NO FUN for a sever Owner. The reason I use residence is so the users can help themselves. Unfortunately the in-game help files are the worst of any plugin I use and all I do is have to help everyone with it or tell them to google the help video by Samiko. In game should have help to make a simple protection on a residence. Step 1 use the Wooden Axe to set 2 points. Step2 Height and Depth command. Step 3 /res create [Name of Your Residence]

    Is the plugin confirmed compatible with world guard? See I want to set up world guard regions for my town area, then allow players to set their own areas for protection. Is there a way to keep people from over lapping their residences with my world guard areas? Kind of a vague question I know...and kind of requires both devs' responses to get a fleshed out answer. Anyway, just thought I would ask. The world guard regions on my last server got corrupted some how, and I just wanted to verify that it wasn't a conflict between the two plugins

    Hopefully this is a CB issue. I just reported it on Leaky. The last issue I had with Magic Spells was fixed on their end after I reported a bug so hopefully it is because this plugin is starting to look dead.

    If it was a recommended build then bekvon would have updated it i rly wouldnt worry to much about it :) just stay on 1532 or whatever is required till recomended build is out then i bet few days down line residence will be updated.

    Thanks for this great plugin, exactly what I needed.
    I have on question though:
    On my small server (6 Slots) I don't want players to create new areas, they have to write me and then I make them an area. Then they can buy it. Is it possible that I don't get the money they spend on such areas (the money should just be "deleted")?

    If not, can I set a limit of areas created per player?

    This is a plugin error, if you go outside of the Bukkit API the names will change right under you. The class was renamed, the author has to fix the plugin.

    Is the author even active on this plugin? I know it was last updated a few months back, but it was working find prior to the MC 1.0.0 release, so I suppose there was no need for an update. Anyhow, I'll be checking regularly for an update. I hate to have my residences temporarily gone for my players' sake. Never know when someone might want to commit a little thievery! Thanks for the great plugin though.. definitely one of the top player-protection plugins in my opinion. Hope to get it fixed soon!

    He last did commits and made a new version on November 14th, so yes, @bekvon is still active and certainly will update once we have a recommended build.

    Does this work with EssentialsGroupManager?

    Also this plugin used to work on my server but now whenever someone tries to buy something, it says you dont have permission. I never set permissions.

    There should be an add-on or a setting in Residence so you can set music for certain residences. You should be able to pick a song from one of the music disks for your residence, and have it so it loops the song and so you can only hear the song in the residence. That way people could have there own songs playing all the time in their shops.

    For those wanting to use Residence under MC 1.0, the plugin only breaks after bukkit build 1532 (or around there). I still sit on that 1532 build and residence works ok. The best I can suggest is to run that same build of bukkit. I will run a test server with the dev build listed above, and see how that goes. Of course, a number of plugins have all failed around that same build version so we all have a bit of a waiting game ahead.

    Lol. No doubt. The newest version works great with CB 1550 It's been running over 10 people for the last 3 hours. That's good enough for me.
