    Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
    As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.​
    As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.​
    This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.​

    Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.​
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.

    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.

    • Added the 'place' and 'destroy' flags, which if used overrule the 'build' flag. These allow you to give only block placement permissions in a certain area, or only block destroy permissions.
    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.

    I recently started a server, and now I am trying to use the Residence plugin. Heres my problem. I want to protect an entire city. NO ONE can edit the streets, important buildings (etc.). I would like to have lots that people can purchase. Then, they would be able to edit only in that region that they purchased.

    I'm wondering if it is possible to make a Residence that a user can build inside, but the city that the Residence is located in is not editable by them.

    try to use subzones with RentSystem on and PreventRentModify set to false
    else you can define subzones with different flags than parent ones for the owner, then put them on the market

    Try it! if you've not set the pvp flags for houses, that should work

    How i disable residence in certain worlds?

    I'm having a little problem. I have a City running just fine and a few houses inside it to rent. The City is "Server Land" and has the flag Use = True and Container = False (so people can enter shops but not open chests). The houses to rent have the flag Use = False (otherwise people would enter and use it without renting XP).
    The problem is, when somebody rents it, they can't even open the door. It seems that the flag Use remains false, but shouldn't it change to the person who rented it? Is there a way to set config so that the flags for the renter are different from other people?

    My problem was fixed by erasing the existing reses. Must have been some kind of versioning error between the original res version and the current one.

    When a member tries to do /res market buy [name]
    It says they don't have permission...

    you should add a command like /res addmember [resname] [playername] that will add another player to be part of the residence and to place/destroy blocks,interact and everything that the owner will be easier then the flag system because it would be like a residence having 2 or more owners(useful for more players who live in the same house)

    I got a problem on my server. I use Residence to protect cities. So, my Admin account can create Huge cuboids. Then, i make a lot of little subzones and make those subzones forsale with ResidenceSigns. No Problem. But, i put a limit for players to only 1 cuboid. Here is the probleme: they can buy as many subzones as they want as longer they don't have a whole cuboid. After they create or buy a cuboid out of a city, they can no longer buy, as I want it to be. But before, they can. Is this normal? Is there an option to unallow them to buy more than 1 subzone?

    Ok, I'm trying to translate the info from English to Spanish. I made a copy of English.yml, rename it as Spanish.yml and it gives me some errors.

    Just a quick cosmetic feature request. Residence names in the Land For Sale & Rentable Land (/res market list) are listed without any delimiters. A space or comma would make it easier for users to see them. No rush, just something to consider when you aren't running around putting out major fires :)

    I searched your file for that line and found a typo. YAML is a crappy markup language. For all of its human readability it isn't very human readable or machine readable for that matter. Takes everyone and their brother to figure out what's wrong when something in YAML isn't working.

    Note the double-quote and the end of the line. Change it to a single-quote. /Should/ Be good after that.

    I have a problem : rent is disabled...
    iConomy 6 and use residenceSigns.

    Edit : Sorry : in config.yml EnableRentSystem: false => true.

    New problem : /res bank deposit 500 ==> You don't have bank access.

    For some reason the -monsters flag doesn't work for me. I want to have a residence with no monsters or animals. I walled it all off and applied the -monsters and -animals flags but it they continue to spawn.

    This plugin has now left me no resort except to turn the server off.

    I have been running this plugin since the day the server started and players have set up all of their residences over the entire server. Now the plugin is deleting the world save files every time the server starts or closes deleting all of the residences. I can see other people having the same issue but there doesn't seem to be a fix.

    Where is the support for this plugin? It would be good to know whether we can get support or whether we need to set up our server with a different plugin. This sort of plugin affects the entire server when you offer a non PVP grief deathmatch server.
