    Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
    As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.​
    As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.​
    This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.​

    Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.​
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.
    • Two ways to select land including using the select command, or using a item to select 2 points.
    • Messages when you enter / leave a residence. (customizable)
    • Land "leasing" system which requires users to renew the lease on their protection every X number of days or loose the protection. (off by default, see config file)

    • TONS of configuration for admins. Customize every single flag that players can or cannot use in the config file, based on their permissions group.
    • (Optional) IConomy support, can set up cost per X number of blocks protected.

    - "Use" flag now covers trap doors.
    - Lease renewal can now be pulled from the Residence's bank.
    - Buying a residence now causes the default flags to be set for the user who is buying it.
    - Minor fixes to new PermissionsBukkit support (fix message about permissions not being detected when it actually was)
    - Added a few miscellaneous forgotten commands to the in-game Residence help.

    • Added direct support for PermissionsBukkit (doesn't go through the bukkit API)

    • Fixed a couple bugs with the lease system, including being enabled when it shouldn't be and the lease auto-renew option.
    • Added "/res area replace" command, allows you to resize / move a physical area. If the new area is bigger, it will only charge you for the difference in size.
    • Added 'waterflow' and 'lavaflow' flags which override the flow flag if set.
    • Fixed a bug causing money to still be charged when failing to add a area to a residence.
    • Fix case sensitivity bug in rent system.

    • Added the 'place' and 'destroy' flags, which if used overrule the 'build' flag. These allow you to give only block placement permissions in a certain area, or only block destroy permissions.
    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.
    • New Developer API, including custom Bukkit events.
    • New Global CreatorDefault / GroupDefault / ResidenceDefault flag sections to help clean up the Groups section, and remove redundant flags.

    Thank you very much, this plugin is just what I was lookng for !

    But ...
    I have a big problem, I don't know why but when a player comes in my server he can't do anything, I've tried to set all flags to TRUE but it changes nothing, can you help me ?

    My config.yml :

    My server run with the last stable version of Craftbukkit,
    I use PermissionsEx (PEX) and ops.
    I don't know if it changes something but the name of the player is "Player"

    Is it possible to use Residence without Permissions ? Only with ops (group for admin who have all permissions) and a default group who can construct and destruct where there is no residence or in their residence. And too only Admins can create residences and give them.

    I looked for solutions in the Residence's Wiki but all my changes does nothing.
    I just noticed that when I set Global flags to FALSE, when Player build there is a message that says he does not have permission, and when I set flags to TRUE, there is no message but he can't do anything...

    I thing i found i bug in plugin. my server was crach and all the residence was deleted.
    this is hapend 4-5 time this week.

    I have an important problem! I'm using PEX (I already set LegacyPermissions to true), and Residence 2.4.2... The problem is that I created a zone for the server spawn, and even I set the flags +use and +container with /res set, noone (included admins and OPs) can use buttons, open doors... I even tried the CMD /res pset for giving myself those flags and still I can't do those actions!

    Anyone know whats the problem and how can I fix it?

    I try to set container and use to true, false, remove.... but nothing fix it... help!

    Of course I tried to remove the residence... and i cought do everything again!

    EDIT: If I set a build flag for example, it works.

    So I used XcraftGate to create a gate to a new world, I then updated my Residence Plugin to the latest version (which updated beautifully, no data loss :)) and I realised that it wasn't saving any residences in the new world. You can still create and edit Residences and they'll be there as long as the server is on, but the second I turn it off and back on again it's gone. I had a look and where it's creating a file for the residences of each world, it's just not creating one for the new world. All prior residences in the old world are still working perfectly, just can't save any new ones in the new world.

    I also installed MultiVerse later on, hoping it might fix it, but it didn't. I went and changed the name in the config.yml to Multiverse-Core hoping maybe that might fix it, but still nothing.

    Any ideas? Help would be much appreciated. :3

    Is there any way to lower the minimum price from 1 to .01 etc? The currency is scarce on my server and people with 10x7x7 plots can't res them because of the price (1)...

    I wonder if it's possible to create a NON-PVP world, EXCEPT the residences you mark as pvp: true. Did anybody achieve that?

    Because the server PVP flag must set to true to enable pvp in the first place, I have to find a way to disable it again with a plugin, EXCEPT for the residences with the pvp = true flag..

    Crazy question I like elements of residence and the new world guard is there a way you and Sk89q could work on possibly merging the abilties to make one combi plugin which would reduce workload on you both and make one server owner happy ? The flags from both for exsample

    I don't know if someone has posted simular to this... too many feeds to read though them all... anyway,
    From what I've seen you can disable /res tp via the flag permissions in config file. I have done this for healing, so players cannot enable healing on their res, but I manually set healing on my 'Hospital' via manual settings on res.yml. This process worked for me with healing, so should also work for the TP command. Set it 'false' as default in config (flags, global), then set default 'flagpermissions' to false. I hope this works for you

  23. Uhh, i logged today to my server and realized that all my residences are suddently gone :eek:
    The save file is empty so i think its corrupted or something.
    I found old residence file where is res.yml.bak and there is like 60 of my residences, can i restore my residences somehow from it?(i tried to put those to server but i cant get those to work, can i convert those to new format or something?)
    This is really annoying, i had +100 residences (player owned shops, towns etc)
    What i can do now? ;(((
    Im using 2.4.2 residence and 1185 bukkit build.
    No error messages in console ;(
    I uploaded "old format" Residence save thing, can i restore from it somehow?

    I have a big residence owned by the server where I have several small subzones which players can buy to build houses etc. When I have leases activated, do players that buy subzones in that server-owned zone have to pay leases for their subzones?

    this is snipped from my config file. so from what i understand this means only server OPs can mess around with using residence. i am op on my server, and it doesnt let me use any commands, it tells me only an admin can do that.

    only other addon i use is worldedit, so i dubt there's any conflict.

    any ideas what im doing wrong? :/

  29. Ohh, i downloaded 4.0.0 and put old saves there, then i downloaded 1.4.1 and it converted to new model save files.
    Now im running 1.4.2 and my residences are good now :)

    I have an idea...:

    I wanted to protect a town (automatically spawned with server generator), so people cannot PVP there, but I also wanted to make "areas" into that residence so people can buy the houses. My idea is to make the areas buyable. For example, the main city of my server (protected) has an street market, I want to make people able to buy their own area in the market so they can set there the shops. But I can't :(

    It would be nice if you add this option!
  31. Just create big area (town)
    Then select plot inside of your town and type /resadmin subzone (yourtownname) (subzonename)
    Like if ur town name is Metropolian and u want make little plot called Shop to Metropolian do this:
    /resadmin subzone Metropolian Shop
    It will create "Shop" to your town, and you can sell it then.
