    MOVED TO DEV BUKKIT:

    News

    v2.4.2 Released - 9/24/2011
See the change log for details.
Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.
As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.
This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.

    Residence Signs (by KarnEdge)

NOTE: All Residence usage information has been moved to the wiki!

    About:
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.
    Features:
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.
    • Two ways to select land including using the select command, or using a item to select 2 points.
    • Messages when you enter / leave a residence. (customizable)
    • Land "leasing" system which requires users to renew the lease on their protection every X number of days or loose the protection. (off by default, see config file)
    • Recursive Sub-zoning. Create zones within zones, and then zones within those zones...
    • TONS of configuration for admins. Customize every single flag that players can or cannot use in the config file, based on their permissions group.
    • (Optional) IConomy support, can set up cost per X number of blocks protected.
    • (Optional) Permissions support.
    • In-game help / commands descriptions

    - "Use" flag now covers trap doors.
    - Lease renewal can now be pulled from the Residence's bank.

    • Added "piston" flag.
    v2.3.4
    • Fixes for CB1000

    • If the save file errors, it will now be preserved rather then overwritten, it will be renamed res-ERRORED.yml, the plugin will now disable itself upon error as well unless the StopOnSaveFault option in the config is set to false.

    • Add /resadmin removeall <player> admin command to remove all residences owned by a player.

    • Removed area list from /res info, use /res area list [residence] or /res area listall [residence] now.

    • Fixed residences not being properly removed from lease / rent system, upon deletion.
    • Fixed bug related to default group option in the config.
    • Fixed global "container" flag bug.
    • Fixed some NPE's related to explosions.
    • Added /resload command to load the save file after you make changes to it (UNSAFE, as it does not save residences first, and so you may loose new residences that were just created)
    v2.2
    • Added per residence Blacklist/Ignorelists that will allow you to specify certain block types to be ignored from residence protections, or unable to be placed in residences.
    • Added Server owned land, use /resadmin server <residence> to change the owner to "Server Owned"

    • Added "/res area replace" command, allows you to resize / move a physical area. If the new area is bigger, it will only charge you for the difference in size.
    • Added 'waterflow' and 'lavaflow' flags which override the flow flag if set.
    • Fixed a bug causing money to still be charged when failing to add a area to a residence.
    v2.1.1
    • Fix case sensitivity bug in rent system.
    v2.1
    • BOSEconomy support.
    • Essentials Economy support.
    • RealShop Economy support.
    • Added the 'place' and 'destroy' flags, which if used overrule the 'build' flag. These allow you to give only block placement permissions in a certain area, or only block destroy permissions.
    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.

    Hello,

I'm trying to set up residence to my wishes but I'm not sure about something.
The flags seem a bit hit and miss.
e.g. global world flags has animals, default residence doesn't have an animals flag.
Do I add flags e.g. add flow to creatordefault to be able to set it, and what is the default setting for unspecified flags if this is how it works?
Basically I want creators to be able to screw up/need to build within normal minecraft rules.
e.g. water the creator places flows, but water created by guests doesn't.

Maybe I'm just blind but I couldn't get my answer from wiki or the comments in the config file, or google for that matter.

    Cheers!

I've created subzones within a residence and have set them up for sale.
No one is able to buy them, they get the message "You don't have permission for this."
I've tried to use the signs, but they still get the same message.
The subzones are bedrock to sky, what could be the problem?

  6. I have used Residence for a long time, but I haven't used the market yet on this server. All other commands work that I know of, but my '/res market' commands do not work; they report an internal error and I get this on my server log:

Hey, great plugin. This is my sort of situation:
I want to make land available to buy for users. However, if i make a an area with this plugin it would be in another region i created with world edit. IS that okay?

Hello, I like this plugin and it sure is usefull on multiplayer servers, but I've noticed a small change in the recent updates. I want to make traps with tnt which will do damage inside residence, but they shouldn't destroy the blocks. I remember this worked in the past as the blocks exploded and came back, but is there a way to do this again and if so how?

Post your config? There is a bucket flag that will work globally, although it should be allowed by default.

You three need to use /resadmin instead of /res when doing admin work. By using /resadmin, it wont charge you anything and there are no limits. :)

Afraid not, I haven't been keeping them although I probably should be. You MIGHT be able to go pull an older commit off of GitHub (github.com/bekvon/Residence) but I'm not exactly sure how you would go about doing that.

Ooops, no it doesn't right now, I forgot to add it to the use flag when they came out with trap doors. I'll get it fixed in the development version asap :)

See the red message under the news section of the OP for a fix for this.

Hmm, looks like its not finding any plugin by the name of "Permissions" for you, what permissions are you trying to use? You might need to use SuperPermsBridge or a similar plugin to bridge Residence to whatever permissions plugin your using.
EDIT: Looks like WorldEdit isn't finding permissions for you either, check your permissions plugin.

Your config seems to be missing the entire Economy section under your default group:
    Code:
           Economy:
              # Whether or not players in this group can buy other Residences that are for sale.
              CanBuy: true
              # Whether or not players in this group can sell their Residences.
              CanSell: true
              # Whether or not to ignore the Residence size/count limits when buying a residence.
              IgnoreLimits: false
              # The cost, per block, of making a new Residence or adding a area to it.
              BuyCost: 0.05
              # The cost, per block, of renewing a Residence lease (if the lease system is enabled).
              RenewCost: 0.02

Its there under your admin group, but missing from your default group.

I'll add it :) There's probably a few miscellaneous command missing from the new help system, as it was moved over to the new help system in a bit of a rush.

Hmm, I've had a few people ask about this, and I will look into adding a config option or something so that you can setup tnt damage to act like you want it to.

You mean the entire /res command is saying admin only?
Check your config for this node:
    Code:
    Global:
        AdminOnlyCommands: false

Make sure its set to false, otherwise only admins can use residence commands, and even then they still have to use /resadmin instead of /res.

You mean for admins? use /resadmin for all commands to make them ignore limits.

Check for this config option under each group:
    Code:
               SelectCommandAccess: true

Make sure its true for group you want to be able to use the select command, otherwise they can only use the selection tool.

wow i completely overlooked that. probably because i switch to permissionsEx after i had installed the residence plugin... anyway this is a great plugin i used it on Broserve.co.cc (unfortunately the server has been restarted and last i checked there was nothing on there anymore:(.)

I am set as an OP and the OWNER (group), i have put residence.admin and residence.create under my group permissions, as well as '*'. should this not allow me full access to all residence commands? if it is supposed to then why cant I use selection commands? whenever i try to use any of the following commands:
    • /res select
    • /res select chunk
    • /res select expand
    • /res select size
    • /res select shift
    • /res select vert
it displays the message; you don't have access to selection commands. there are no messages displayed in the console.

Hello, I have a little problem.

I'm OP on my server, and when I try this command for example : "/res subzone zone1 zone2",
I got this message in the chat : "You don't have permission for this".

I'm using PermissionsEx. This permission plugin doesn't work with Residence ?

    Thank You.

    Swadon.

I, too, am getting the PLAYER_INTERACT error message on my test server. The strange thing, is that this server doesn't have any residences yet defined (we're building first). What's going on here?

    Running RB1000, PEX 1.13, LocalShops 3.03, iConomy 5.0, Multiverse 1.7.2, worldedit 4.6.

Is there going to be a fix for this, and what is wrong?
[Nevermind. I screwed up the config.yml (legacypermissions was set to true in the beginning of the file and false in the middle).]

Is there a way to make the build flag in a residence override the "build: false" option in Permissions? It's so that the players in my server can do whatever they want on their property but can't go around and screw up the rest of my server. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for this plugin, it is working great. :)
It says permissions plugin not found in console, i have (dev build) bukkitpermissions running.
    Is that normal ?

For some strange reason I can no longer use the expand command. It just started saying "Invalid select command..". I have just started having problems with my server all the sudden. First earlier today this happened: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/snow-everywhere.30845/ (Still have not figured that one out. Just restored a backup and disabled weather for now :/ not really the ideal solution.) And now I was trying to place a residence (The user is OP and has all permissions). I selected the two points then expanded up by five. Then I went to expand down and it starts telling me that it is an invalid select command. Idk what happened. I am spelling it correctly. Tried it like seven times. I even tried restarting the client and the server. Any suggestions? Also any info or suggestions anyone has on my snow problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Running;

    Build 1000
    Residence 2.3.7
    Permissions 3.1.6

Okay, My problem was fixed (the problem existed between keyboard and chair). I had updated the config.yml and added the legacypermissions: true to the top, not seeing that it was now defined in the middle of the file (as false). So bad on me.

                             destroy: false

I'm not sure about residence signs selling your whole area, but yea theres a minor bug causing this exception when using "/res market" with nothing else after it. The individual market commands should still work though i.e. "/res market buy" Il fix the issue when I can though.

It's the signs messing it up, so dont bother it.
Still works using the sign command /land sell so you dont need to fix it either :)

Restart the server and it will work again :)
    Sorry for my slow reply

when I try to set a residence it says that
Cannot create residence this deep, limit is 10000000.
(yes, I set my limit to 10million).
so why when I select a 4 by 1 square this message comes up?
