    A versatile, player-controlled land management plugin for use with Bukkit/Tekkit/Spigot/Libigot, offering solutions for pvp, griefing, chat, inflated economies and monsters.

    Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.

    Nah does not work. And also it is faster with a tool to find the borders of a lot. If you want to build an outpost around a resource or lots along a coastline its much easier to know where they start and stop with a tool. Worldguard has that too. very handy

    Ello :)

    We found a problem, some might call it a bug and others call it annoying. Anyhow, we got places in the world where we use worldedit to protect areas. Its possible for any player to place a town on protected areas.

    Im not sure if you guys could fix this but i really hope so :)

    Is it possible for me to set it so that all towns have thier switch protection permenantly off? I like them to have block/item protection, but I want them to create secure doors with redstone, not with simple wooden doors.

    I'm assuming you mean WordGuard. We don't interface with WorldGuard so Towny won't see it's areas.

    Im sorry of course i mean worldguard ^^. Would be great if it could interfere with it. Is this something you might add? Its a huge issue atleast on our server.

    Atm i can only see one solution on it and that is to make every area we got protected by worldguard a city.

    I had some command crash on my bukkit.
    When I use '/town spawn', error occur like this

    CButD just reported that Towny got an update, but I'm already using v0.74.0. Is this a false positive?

    Update to 0.74.0

    Just remove the wooden door ID number from the switch ID list in the towny config.yml

    Follow the wiki's upgrade install page. Join the IRC. Do what you gotta do.

    I'm not sure if this is a bug, but after switching to 0.74.0 when town mayor's set their town spawn. It does write to the config, and I see it in the file. however once server reboots the next morning for our scheduled reboot the town spawn is no longer set and residents of the town can't tp back to their towns until the mayor comes back online and sets it up again.
    I've been monitoring the issue and forced reboots to see if it would re-occur and it does. Everything else seems to remain in place. I've also tried deleting our config and let it create a new one and this still occurs.

    We've had an issue open for some time now. So far no one has come up with proper instructions to make this reproduce-able in our tests. Get us the right steps and we can fix it.

    I'll try and reproduce this evening after work // 6pm EST. It has been happening every day, looks like on previous releases as well.
    I'll capture the town's config file with the coords listed after the town spawn has been set, then reboot and look at the file again. We dont get any errors in the console of any sort when making the spawn location, it just seems to not read the config file when we restart server to remember its spawn location.

    Apparently I'm supposed to use this thread now.

    You previously helped me sort out issues with switches, but now I have another issue.

    Mobs will spawn in all towns, and no one, not even Admins can use /t commands.

    All I edited was the ID's for the switches, but I assume I've done something in the config by mistake.

    [Towny] Error could not read modify_chat from config.yml

    Everytime someone says anything on my server, their names are: <>.
    It started to happen after an update yesterday.

    I've slimmed down the display name of players to [Town][Rank][Name], but when a large number of people are online (especially when they are all mayors, leaders, etc.) the /list of online players becomes completely unreadable, with a town name or a title name just arbitrarily recurring.

    Hi, I have bukkit build: 1000 and towny build: 1000

    Whenever any of my town residences tried to place water from a bucket the water just disappears, the same thing for flint and steel and other items...

    Your players don't have the itemuse perm for whichever plots they are using the buckets on. Flint and Steel only work if the mayor toggles firespread on.

    Ive looked at the commands but i didnt see anything on how to set perm for plots. And ive turned itemuse on for other residents and the town itself and they still cant place water

    Read the How Towny Works wiki page, it teaches how to protect plots. It could also be a different plugin doint it. What is the message a player receives when they try to use a bucket.

    There is no message the water goes down stays for a second then disappears and resets the bucket.

    Anyone know how to fix this error?
    It happened when a player tries to add money to their town. It only happens to one town. Their Town has lots of words and underscores in the name. It also takes their money without depositing it.
