Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.

      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.

    • Wilderness Rules (Optional)
      • Area between towns is wilderness, with its own build permissions.
      • Limit players' interaction with the wild to just harvest-able blocks, keeping the wild pristine.
      • Roll-back tnt, creeper, wither explosions, dragon damage and endermen block-moving.
      • Block explosions and fire.
    • PVP Enhancements
      • Server with a strong PVP aspect will find Towny's grouping of players to be invaluable.
      • Prevent friendly-fire. (Optional)
      • Nations split players into larger teams.

And if it says you ran out of plots go into the config.yml and change the amount of bonus plots a town can have to like 100 or something. Then in game do
    /town buy bonus <number of bonus plots>

    aha, thanks .,

can someone give me a list whit all the commands?
and 1 more thing, i dont understand
so. what the command to make my town bigger, size,?
    and 1 more thing
in config.yml , i open it whit notepad++ , and where/what i need to change to have more bonus plots?
  4. I've not seen any lockups, but I did find a minor bug in GroupManager which cause some wild perms to report incorrectly.
Download a fresh towny.jar to be sure of no corruption, but I see no lockups

alright so first off to add bonus plots in the config.yml its under Town Claim/new Defaults look for max_purchased_blocks: '0' change the 0 to like 100 or something.

secondly you can find all the commands in the wiki here

and the command to make your town bigger is
    /town claim
think of it like you're claiming or adding on plots of land to your town. You have to claim areas that are on the edge of your town, so like you cant just leave your town walk a mile and then try to claim your town, that would be claiming an outpost which is something ill leave you to find out.

I don't have any problems using PermissionsBukkit with Towny. Did you run your yml permissions file through a parser? Make sure those two lines don't have any tabs or things you might have accidentally put in there.

It seems that people can't join towns. And mods can't either.

Can you please allow this to be compatible with Vault? http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/vault/
That would really save the stress of so many server Admins, and so many would appreciate it so much. Towny is a great plugin, but it is a heartbreak when we have to look for alternatives because of it not supporting something that so many people use.

with bPermissions, is the meta section the same as the info section? towny_maxplots doesnt seem to be working for me.

    prority: '20'
    prefix: '&e[G1]&f'
    towny_maxplots: 3

so does it work on 1.2?

I tried both the latest version and the dev version and they both crash my server
  20. Dev is the same as release, and it works just fine.

Every week something about town just fuckn dies or misbehaves... now towny has kicked every single fuckn resident out of all 20 of our towns... I guess it decided that every person on the server was not active.. even though my server had over 30 people log in just yesterday. How do I restore my settings from these backups im always seeing getting deleted.....
You have documented how to create a backup.. but nowhere do u show how to use or restore one of these backups. Could someone please help.. this is absolutely fuckin ridiculous that this is happening.

ok now... noone can move on my server. If i keep towny in our screens go all goofy and glitchy, we cannot move, tp, or do a god damn thing. If i remove the towny plugin completly we have not a single issue.. I put it back in and everything is all fucked again... Dude.. what is going on with this plugin today... It seems like its set itself to apocalypse mode or some other bullshit.

If you checked your startup you'd probably see that towny is in safemode, freezing your players/stopping them from greifing your server while towny isn't running.
The backups can be found in the \plugins\towny\backup directory. They're .zip files.

Start by stopping your server and renaming \plugins\towny\data to \plugins\towny\olddata

Then extract the \data\ folder from one of the backups into your \plugins\towny folder.

Start the server and check the log/console, make sure towny startups up. If it doesn't go to an older backup and try again.

    I've run into a problem.
Players are unable to do anything in the wilderness, the block just reverts to its past self when destroying something.
It used to be followed by a message saying you can't destroy in the wilderness, but I set Wilderness build/destroy to true, and now the message does not appear, but people still cannot do anything in the wilderness. I notice it's only players who are not ops, because everything works fine for ops. I attached a screenshot of my world settings if it's any help; and these are my wilderness settings in the Towny/settings/config.yml file:
    unclaimed_zone_build: 'true'
    unclaimed_zone_destroy: 'true'
    unclaimed_zone_item_use: 'true'
    unclaimed_zone_switch: 'true'
let me know if you need any other information, I appreciate any help I can get.

Give them towny.wild.* in your perm nodes file(s).

The setting in the config is just the default settings given to new worlds. The individual world settings are only used if using_permissions: false is in your config.yml
  25. Offline

I thought I had added that I'm not using a permissions plugin, sorry. Also, permissions is set to false in my config.yml.
    Thanks for the quick reply.
Edit: I also have given the same exact options to the individual world's wilderness settings

thank you. ... now... you should probably take this post and put it on the wiki somewhere so others can find it without having to ask here for it.

Your settings are fine, but in the first post you didn't mention a message from towny saying that destroying/building isn't allowed in the wilderness. Towny always sends a message if it is disallowing things in teh wilderness. Maybe its the default bukkit spawn protection?
  30. Offline

Well, I thought it wasn't a problem with the plugin, but after disabling only Towny on the server, players can now destroy again. There has to be something Towny is doing.
