    when i create a zone that is pretty huge every thing works but when i restart my server the zone dissapers! i tryed making a smaller one with 10x10 blocks then it stayed! i don't know whats' wrong! :/

    Hello, I set up a zone around my huge city and it works fine however the server box keeps getting spammed by the message below every single second. Idk what it means but it says player could not move however everyone in my world can move and in permissions it is set for all my groups to be allowed entry to all zones. I tried restarting the server and everything and it just keeps spamming this to the point that I can't even see other server information in the box. Any help would be great, thanks.

  11. Looks like something in your custom zones is using special characters. Things like accents and graves (á é ...), punctuation (! @ / ...) do not agree with the plugin.
    You and me both, pal.

    Can we get a mod to tag this as [INACTIVE]?

  13. Nothing worth saying. I'm just putting some of these logs in the EpicZones bug tracker. Seeing as the plugin author hasn't signed in since the 13th.

    • Edit: I've uploaded two tickets, one for the ENTITY_EXPLODE error, and one for the PLAYER_MOVE error. Drop by and leave your comments, hopefully the plugin dev will see them.

    I created 4 worlds (that already existed) using MultiWorld. I made another that had already been mapped out, but in this one, I "don't have permission to destroy any blocks in this zone." [skeleton] All the other worlds work, but not this one.

    In reply to Nox, I also have the issue with the error for explosions, this may be different for you, but the reason I've been getting it was due to a plugin conflict, I was using Higher Explosions to remove terrain damage from Creepers and TNT, and apparently it confuses Epiczones.
    Until Bukkit 1060, it wasn't a big deal for me because the server ran fine, just the log was jammed with the error code, but post 1060, the error crashes my server, so no more explosion control =(
  20. I don't use Higher Explosions. But it makes me think that any plugin that tries to control explosions would have this effect.
    Except I don't have any plugins that do that. My ENTITY_EXPLODE errors, however, are all in different worlds (I first saw it when I tried to use a bed in the Nether, which exploded and generated the error). Then when someone went into the scratch-copy of the main world (the copy is for people to grief freely, I see the error a lot here.) and used TNT in it (that's why).
    Did your server have multi-world, Adam? Maybe with MultiVerse?

    inactive plugin is inactive.

    If you cannot make the corrections yourself, won't pay to have someone do it for you and don't have a friend that will do it for free, then move on. There are other plugins out there.

    The topic is inactive, maybe because I was the one who called for it to be active. It probably isn't cause-effect, but it wasn't inactive, I said it should be inactive, it then was inactive. Duh. Telling me that is just being a retard for the sake of redundancy.
    Move on? To WHERE? Yeah, there are other plugins out there. But people (like me) have looked, and have been disappointed. We have asked, and have been disappointed.
    Which is why the source code was released. Where the hell else am I supposed to ask to see if anyone had taken the code and made even an attempt to develop with it?

    I thought so. Sit down.

    There is no plugin yet that offers polygonal area definition with enter/exit messages, controllable mob variation, the ability to toggle selective entry/building/destruction by Permissions group, the ability to toggle explosions, burning, and firespread individually; all in one plugin. And certainly not as effectively as modular functions in a list of plugins. I've looked.

    Come back when you learn not to be such a smart-aleck and how to read the discussion up to this point. Instead of seeing the [INACTIVE] tag, glibly seeing that I was the last poster, and then pouncing thoughtlessly.

    I am done talking to you now. Please do not talk to me again. You have already demonstrated your character to me, I am not impressed enough to give you any more of my time.

    I've been involved in this project for many months and was quite sad to see the dev move on. It was a good plugin that was basically created because WorldGuard didn't have polygonal zones. Of course it grew from there... and then died. But World Guard lives on... with polygonal zones.

    Although your prose is humorous, you were incorrect from your initial premise onward. The chill you felt was not from my response, but rather the cold, hard reality that this plugin is dead and unless you or someone else have the resources to revive it, it will remain dead, dead, dead.

    Regarding being smart-alecky... Guilty! And unlikely to change.

    For anyone else still desperately hanging onto this dead plugin, try WorldGuard. It does take some getting used to, but it pretty well matches the feature list of EZ, and it is a supported product. Also, there are other plugins that tie into WG, (like RegionClaim, Dynmap, RegionWarp, CapureMe and others) that further increasing its usefulness.

    WG has a LOT of features for control within each region. If all you are looking for is basic zone controls, you might want to take a look at something like iZone, or even InvisibleWalls. Do a plugin search for "region" and "zone". You'll see lots of alternatives.

    So, I've been playing Minecraft again since the release of 1.8, and now seeing that bukkit is up to date with 1.8. I've considered bringing EZ back to life.

    This post is a bit of a thermometer to see if there is still interest in it being around or not.

    LOL. I've been telling myself "Alright -- now that 1.8 is out and official, time to bite the bullet, stop trying to keep EZ working, and move over to WG.":D

    My advice (FWIW): I know that there is a philosophical movement among bukkit devs to try to reduce redundant plugins. Have you got a fresh spin on a regions/zone plugin? If so... go for it. If not, then maybe partner up with another zones plugin dev and help max out that project.

    whatever you decide, you've got my appreciation and respect for a really great EpicZones product. It has been foundational to my servers since day1.

    Aha! Awesome that you may be bringing EpicZones back, I just saw my suggestion get accepted on the google code thing, (I posted that before i actually realised how long EZ had actually been inactive for) and was like :O... anyway my server has full backing of the plugin, and just like the previous poster, I was just about to say goodbye to EZ, but now i will perhaps see what happens with EZ :D

    You should consider of reviving this plugin, since it is a very handy tool to protect server's key structures, which Towny, Residences or similar plugins just can't do.

    Ok, so I've updated EpicZones to support the most recent build of bukkit (1185).

    I've not tested much, but not much looked broken. It does in fact load without errors.
    I've also added support for bukkit permissions.

    I've got some cool features down the pipe and come code optimizations in mind as well. So hopefully EZ will become even better than it had already.
