    MineQuest started out as a plugin to add some RPG-like progression to Minecraft. It had 8 (By default, now completely customizable) character classes (4 Combat, 4 Resource - also by default) and you gained experience by doing tasks related to the class (e.g. Warriors fight with a Sword, or WarMages cast WarMage Spells). All combat classes gained health when they went up in levels, and all classes gained related abilities at certain levels.

    An example of a custom class configuration is now available:

    Now MineQuest has grown to be a much bigger project than gaining abilities and extra health. It includes mobs that get harder over time based on a level adjustment (determined by active players in the server). It has built in economy(iConomy Supported)/town systems that are available if people so desire. Most likely the coolest thing so far is the quest system.

    Good Places to start in game are /minequest, /cubonomy (economy), and /quest (questing specific). Also poking around the help pages (Linked as more information below) gives some details about more advanced commands as well.

    MineQuest is equipped with a system that is being developed so that minecraft can have real instanced dungeons where a select party can teleport into a world that has traps, harder monsters, and special loot. When complete players are brought back to their original locations.

    These quests are completely customizable as they only load from a text file. MineQuest will search the bukkit directory for the appropriate .quest file when the quest is started. This means that anyone running a server could write a quest. Not just plugin developers!

    The spell system is nothing special, and I'm sure that others exist out there, but what really makes MineQuest unique is the complete package, dungeons and everything.

    Best plugin imo, big fan. I'm sorry if this has been asked but whenever I use /goto or /startquest I always spawn and die, both directions. Is this something I can fix or a known issue? It looks like i'm spawning underground in a block. I'd hate to have to ditch my world file. although it might be worth it.

    @cloned: wow,.. that is a new one. What plugins are you running in addition to MQ? Anything that deals with autoHealing?

    I think this probably has to do with where your spawn point is on the quest world. Try placing a block and standing on top of it, then set your spawn point.

    Dieing? All actually. I have "world" main and primary generated by bukkit. Then when I try "/startquest dungeon" I die too. I added my old world "Faerun" and I die entering that one too.

    Edit: Just for the hell of it I tried "/goto hell" and it happens there too. That was a world that wasen't even generated yet. lol tired, didn't even notice i did go to hell. yeah bed time.

    that sounds great, it'd definitely be a huge help to people who can't quite piece things together yet.

    So i added an npc and tested out some text and whatnot, then attached a quest to him. before that i put the quest file in both the main bukkit folder as well as the generated minequest one. however when i click the npc the cmd spams that the specific quest file can't be found. my question is, is there a specific folder you create to put it in, or do you define it some properties file? Idk, it might just be my mysql/flatfile not working right or something, despite the cmd saying it loaded successfully.

    when you gave the NPC the quest, what exact command did you use? did you tell the npc to look for a file, or just filename?

    just filename, without the .quest. I used "/npc_property test quest filename" where 'test' is the npc name. I'm going to reset the plugin and connect it to mysql, instead of the flatfile option.

    I have this problem too with his example 'dungeon' quest. The spawn point is set inside the dirt and for the life of me I can't fix it :( Some craftbukkit update (or possibly minequest update) made the example dungeon spawn point not work right anymore and I can't get into the 'nether' part of the 'dungeon' world to fix it no matter what I do. When I create my own instances I set the spawn point 1 or 2 blocks off the ground just to be sure players don't knock into eachother and glitch through the ground.

    I saw this problem too on my server on the one time that the punch did take effect, and I didnt include the .quest extension either, I'll test more later.

    should automatically pick up iConomy and your cubes and iConomy should be synchronized.

    Actually, I fixed the problem. What happened was the quest file was a .txt file named as, rather than being a plain .quest file. Just opened up notepad and saved it as it's own .quest file instead of a .txt. That fixed the problem with the npc and I test ran the dungeon.

    On another note, whenever I respawn or relocate, I sometimes get damaged continuously when moving/looking around. Fixes by restoring health with food. This a possible/known bug?

    As it states multiple times - somewhere in your mcserver directory, it detecs them automatically ;)

    I have both the dungeon.tar and Extracted the tar. After I die from spawning in the ground/wall, i spawn somewhere safe and can test run the dungeon. Sorry I should have mentioned that sooner. same deal with returning, I die then re-spawn safe and can explore. Granted I lose everything I'm hold every time it happens but.. I also suffer some damage too, even after spawning "safe".

    @ jmonk and all members of the minequest-team :Its me again, after setting up some easy quests and npc, thanks to u guys :D I would like to offer some kind of service in return now, as both ur plugin and ur support are the best i have ever seen :p. So, if there is any interest, i would like to offer u a translation of the to German. So if u think it would be usefull i would create some kind of localization in a Word-document or some text-editting-document, so that u could offer another language on ur page. Just tell me, if u have any interest and i will staart asap :p.

    Noah: Did you save your abilities.jar into your main bukkit directory? It also sounds as though the or files in your main bukkit directory\Minequest might not be fully setup. Can you pastebin these please?

    In that case, it's not syncing when purchasing mercenaries. Seems to work for buying property though. When I try to buy a mercenary it says I don't have enough cubes, or something like that.

    I have updated the Cheat-Sheet. As of now it is 95% completed with only the Cubonomy and Stores left to be finished.

    Also, is there a command to remove the owner of a property? I bought a property to test and want to release ownership. Should I do this in the database?
