    Hi,

Im really into buying a dedicated server for running a MC/Bukkit server 24/7
It need to run smoothly with 10-25 and playable till 35 people.

I made a list of plugins i would install (not finished) but what server specs do i need for a linux server with the following plugins?
      • Permissions
      • WoldEdit
      • WorldGuard
      • Buycraft
      • Hawkeye
      • mcMMO
      • Towny Advanced
      • iConomy
      • Questioner
      • Towny Chat
      • DeathNotifier
      • Dynmap
      • milkAdmin
      • milkAdminRTK
      • mcBan
      • Citizens
      • MobArena
      • Jail
I found a server with 2times an Intel Xeon 2.4 Ghz and 2gb of ram (at the moment i dont know wich type DDR, DDR2 or DDR3)

What do you think i will need for such a server?
Are that specs good enough or do i need more ram or processor speed

    Thanks in advance,

    Highz

I would recommend 4gb of RAM, just to be on the safe side.
Also I would look into the upload speed your server has, you will want anywhere from a 50mbit to a 100mbit uplink.

Let me know if you need any further help.

    @highz
    2Gb-3Gb should do fine :)

I would recommend a min of 2GB RAM for any server, and as more players join and more plugins are added, update from there.

As for the CPU, it is a few years old and has a lowish clock speed, so if you were to world edit or something, it would cause MAJOR lag. Also going by your CPU, it looks to be DDR2 RAM.

What you have found will work, just don't do any major word editing unless only one person is on.

You want plenty of RAM, a fast CPU, fairly fast upload, and either a SSD or a high performance RAID array (or a small RAMdisk).
