The introduction of larger biomes to 1.8 is great and I'm finding myself enjoying playing on islands in ocean biomes, But the lack of passive animals spawning where they should be able to, really blows. I play on a private server and wed all appreciate it if someone would create a mod to re-enable passive mob spawning in ocean biomes. Thank You
PIGS gone overboard. PIG IN THE WATER, REPEAT PIG DOWN! I don't think some one could 're-enable' it, but a plugin could fake it well enough that it seems enabled.
cute, my point is they dont spawn on any land masses (islands of any size) in ocean biomes, which can make island games less interesting.
I got an idea for something different. Set a position and listed mobs spawn from it. I'd do it but I have no computer access til monday ...
Like a mob Spawner? no, too much that can go wrong wrong. if you can set what block a mob can spawn on, the setting the biome or changing what biome the game thinks a chunk is in should be as easy, hopefully
At worst, the plugin developer would have to have it ,monitor spawn events and use a custom spawn script for the ocean biome, when the regular one fired
I just wanted to add my voice to this. As someone who builds almost all his structures around efficient mob farms, the change to passive mob spawning they made really irked me. And it still does. Is it realistic? No, but neither is punching trees for wood. I'd love to have it back. If it also allows spawning in Ocean biomes, perfect. Whatever idiot Mojang programmer put that logic in obviously hasn't heard of the term "terraforming", and hasn't realized how many of our own cities have plants and animals that aren't native to the original environment. I've seen a bit about mods that do this outside Bukkit, but for simplicity I'm opting to ignore all such mods. If it ain't in Bukkit, I ain't using it.
