    Hey guys,

as to now CraftBukkit 1.2.5-R1.0 was running on my server. Today I downloaded the 1.2.5-R4.0 CraftBukkit and copied the file to my server folder where the 1.2.5-R1.0.jar is also saved.

Unfortunately I experience the following problem when starting my bat-file to start my Bukkit server:

After continuing the server stops automatically and the window closes.

Of course I changed the path in my bat to the new 1.2.5-R4.0.jar file..

When I re-change the path to my old 1.2.5-R1.0.jar file the server runs without any problems..

What can I do against this error?

    thanks,

Windows servers need the Visual C++ 2008 redistributable if you want to be able to see text formatting in your console (or use -nojline to disable jLine if you don't want to).

So your suggestion is installing Visual C++ 2008 redistributable?

Why does 1.2.5-R4.0 need this and 1.2.5-R1.0 not?

    It is a requirement. for 1.2.5 R4

ok, thanks, I'll try it now

ok, as you can see I have Installed the Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable ( Operating System is Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition 64bit ) but the error still exists... (already tried rebooting the OS)

does no one have an idea?

EDIT: Problem solved. Despite the fact that the operating system is an 64bit system bukkit only runs with the 32bit version of visual c++ 2008 installed...

so are you saying that bukkit has to be running in 32bit?
