What CB build are you running? What essentials build? If you're running a dev. build for MC 1.0.0, then you're probably encountering problems because Essentials is not updated to work with any MC 1.0.0 builds.
Correct. It has something to do with the updates on Minecraft from 1.8.1 to 1.0.0 when you are using a new craftbukkit version, but not a new Essentials version. I would suggest waiting for a CB recommended version for Minecraft 1.0.0. That way, the plugin developers will update the plugins.

good to know.. I'm having the same issues with my server.. about 100 ppl on tonight and it randomly crashes.. looked in server.log and have seen essentials bug out constantly... (1.0.0)
