Hi, I was wondering if there might ever be a way to play .ogg files without resource packs, or any third party mod. People have made .mid files play without the mods, so I was wondering if it would be possible with .oggs. If you got anything to say or add to possible help me achieve this, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can only play the regular sounds from Bukkit, like Orb pickup etc. And notes from noteblocks.

It is only possible if you insert a streaming client into the minecraft client. For it to be the most suitable you would have to make it yourself.

You can read the ogg (I believe there are many libraries for this) and change (notes will be probably different than the sound, so you'll find the closest (map it) and then translate it) the individual sounds into notes (from noteblock), and then send them to client.

Superbee29 I've already got a lib for that, that's why I wanted to try use .ogg files to make them sound better.
