Hey, I have tried watching tutorials, looking at all the documentation, using example files, but I can't get ANY permissions to work. I remember back with Permissions 3 I just gave up, but now I need them. I have tried PermissionsBukkit and PermissionsEx, but nothing seems to work. The closest I got to getting them to work was when I was trying to configure permissionsEx, and I made the users and groups with nodes and a prefix. In game, we were technically in the groups and our prefixes showed, but the default group wasn't applied to new people who logged in, and none of the nodes worked - just the prefixes, so it was resorted to everyone having a fancy title but either being 'Op' or 'can't do anything'. I am certain every time I tried this, craftbukkit and any associated plugins were all up to date, and compatible. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong??

Thanks! Ok, I used your PEX auto setup Harry, and it didn't work. I have spent so many hours of my life editing .yml files, and now I am certain 100% its not the files that are the problem. Something else is wrong, I just dont know what. I just made a new bukkit server there with latest build, set it up, put pex in plugins, then restarted. I used your auto setup, and it didnt give any errors (said it was set up successful), but again all permissions were void and it didnt work. Since the files aren't the problem, heres some additional info: -I am running the latest build on a 32 bit installation of XP proffesional. -In my server folder is: plugins folder, world folders for world, nether and end, craftbukkit snapshot and run.bat, banned ips, banned players, bukkit.yml, help.yml, and permissions.yml (blank), server.log, server.log.1, whitelist, ops, and server.properties. -In my plugins folder is PEX folder and .jar. -In my PermissionsEx folder is config.yml (http://pastebin.com/RkBqkFKu) and permissions.yml. -It is a Hamachi server -It is STILL BROKEN Please, does anyone have any ideas? thanks.
