Plugin Help Permissions Ex

Hello, I am currently working on a server and I want to create classes such as miner or herbalist. I have it set up to where each one will reset all your mcmmo skills and give you a boost in mining or herbalism. The only part I am having trouble with is setting someone's pex prefix by command block. I tried using @p for the nearest player to give them the prefix however it doesn't work.
