I have to restart the server for them to be able to connect in that part of the map again, anyone know why?

I'm having the same issue with a number of chunks. Although its not always just a grey screen. I get a few different things going on.

Case 1: I login to the server and get "Internal Server Error" and get the following console error:

    Code:
17:47:44 [WARNING] Failed to handle packet: java.lang.NullPointerException
    java.lang.NullPointerException

Case 2: Usually without closing MC after the first error, and attempting to get into the server, I get the grey screen. If I launch from a command line I get the following error dump:

** New info: I had an admin clear any items on the ground in that chunk, and I was able to get back into the server. The problem started when I was chopping trees. On the ground, there were saplings, Log:2 and some string that I dropped to make room in inventory. Also, I just entered the chunk w/o anything on the ground. I encountered no problems.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as I can't get into my own server right now. Even if it's just pointing me in the right direction, I'll take what I can get... Thanks in advance.
