OS for bukkit?

  1. What OS selected for bukkit?

    Debian lenny x86
    or
    Debian lenny x64
    or
    Debian squeeze x86
    or
    Debian squeeze x64
    or
    Ubuntu x86
    or
    Ubuntu x64

    My server
    2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3430 @ 2.40GHz
    Cache: 8192 KB
    3,1gb Ram

    Actually it doesn't really matter. Choose the one that suits your taste.
    I am using Debian squeeze x64 on a VPS. If you need a lot of RAM for your server, make sure to pick a 64-bit OS.

    If you are not very familiar with Linux and if you are a "native" Windows user, you might prefer Ubuntu. But this only matters if you like to use a GUI. On the command line all derivates are pretty much the same.

    You can also get MineOS, specially created for minecraft.

    Or if you are going to be using this server for the sole purpose of hosting (a) minecraft server(s) you might want to look into Mine OS ( http://minecraft.codeemo.com/ ) which is an operating system designed to run minecraft servers.

    Are they all linux? If so are linux's better for servers or something?
