hm, looks nice. However: I do not know if its possible serverside to perform this, (especially new textures/new blocks/new item IDs are client side possible) a modification of the boat would be a solution, but I'm sure you want to keep the boat. Just can say: please be patient
I would really love to see this ported as well. The crafting options for the planes fit directly in the game, though I hope there would be an option to turning bullets off. Still, since it is SMP compatible, hopefully it will be brought over to bukkit as well. I'd toss a few dollars to the developer/porter.
Look. Just don't request new blocks. It's that simple. That's client-side only, and most people don't like client-side plugins. So just wait for a solution to that to come up, Notch or whoever, and stick to features to already existing blocks now.
Most plugins involving adding new blocks and sprites are all clientsided... It won't happen unless the client and server both host the mod, and craftbukkit doesn't all you to add new blocks.
Its unfortunate I've had to stop using bukkit because of how amazing the planes mod is. All the people on my server voted for the planes mod over having all the other great mods with bukkit. I hope someone gets it working on bukkit.
hmm for our fantasy/medieval server this is a bit too overpowered for me, I would like to have airships or hot-air balloons instead of aircraft :/
Are you serious? How in the world is all this useful stuff in Bukkit worse than something that can take you in the air for a bit and move you farther? I think you're just trolling to get the planes in Bukkit.
It's true that the bukkit mods are amazing and there's such a huge variety in them... I personally can't bear to get rid of Mcmmo... Minecart Mania, and Autoreplace (simple yet awesome). However.... most everyone in my server as well REALLY wants to have the airplane and wants to go and play with that for a few and leave our other server behind so they can have dog fights in the air. It adds a new aspect to the game that would be amazing to have if it could be added to the bukkit plugin list. I would really LOVE to see this added to bukkit... I realize that a lot of people aren't willing to go and try to put a client side software on everyone in their server, but I'm willing to bet that there's going to be a LOT of people willing to go through that effort to get it in. Including myself. If I knew how to use java I would make the program myself but I dont know much about it. I acutally kind of wish that Bukkit also supported Client side mods on this website... I like the forums on the www.minecraftforum.net . However it's too cluttered and unorganized. Bukkit is very neat and tidy and has a huge amount of people that are working here.
Someone is working on something like that. It's called Pogic. But my opinion is that I would get pretty bored from one mod over others Meanwhile, you could have two servers - a plane one and a normal one.
