And i connect and it says Connection Refused: Connect.
I have Done so much to figure out and still have not figured out i have port forwarded.
I have Checked the server Config
But i dont know if my dad messed up something when changing the Router Connection from Linksys.
To make his laptop get internet from this computer.

i think the firewall might have something messed up but im not risking.

    - I am so upset please help me.

If you are playing off the same computer, you SHOULD use localhost as the address.

Double check your server's IP and check it against the settings in your router.

Ok well i set an IP for my server as LocalHost and i can connect to that but no one else.
Ive tested by posting a server test on minecraft fourms.
They said it does not work.
So either Im messed up for good.
Or unless Some Computer Guy Comes up and Tells me exactly what to do.

Windows firewall may be blocking java, but you still need to portforward from your outer if you have one, pointing at your local IP on your server hosting machine.

make sure you have port forwarded, set the correct port, and you are giving the external IP.

    format is: externalip:port

    www.whatismyip.org

    kcguy2112

Yeah i did exactly as that.
    I know my server IP
    And my real IP
But the external IP i do not know.

Make sure the ip you give them is not 192.xx.xx. Thats the internal IP.
Make sure to give them IP you are given at www.whatismyip.org

Go to Start and type cmd then hit enter. Type ipconfig. In Applications and Gaming, forward port 25565 to the 192.168.**** IPv4 address you see in the cmd window. Then, use www.whatismyip.org and connect to your server using whats on that website.

    Code:
    Windows IP Configuration

    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

       Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
       Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::a447:b95:881f:959e%10

And i have been using my Regular IP
But it says Connection Refused: Connect.
I can only connect to it using localhost
Now my server has worked before.
    And it was port forwarded.
But it seems its not anymore D:
And when i try to save it it says settings saved then it takes me back to the orignal page
and the minecraft portforward is gone.

Um It wont let me highlight whats in it or copy it.

In that case, go to your Linksys webpage again and there should be a tab called Status, or whatever tab is on the far right. Click that then I think its the sub-tab in the middle, click that and then you should find DHCP Clients Table. Look around if you don't, I don't have a Linksys router anymore so I'm just trying to remember.

Ok I'm not sure what that was about, but you DO have an IPv4 address,
    Code:
    IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.101

Go back to applications and gaming and forward that address to 25565, check enable, and save.

    So Like put
192.168.1.101 in the application name? or put 01 after the 192.168.1.
if i leave the 0 the same it will work
But if i put 1 It will say invaild IP address
