New players not getting welcomed?

When a new players joins the server there is no "welcome to <servername>" pls help

 

Do you have Essentials? There is a place in the config file to setup a welcome message. It's clear down at the bottom.

That's what it looks like on my server. You would of course configure it to fit your server's needs.

 

What JaguarJo said, also requires essentialsspawn.jar to work.

Fine Yoshi pie Hmm...well the only things I can see with that is that your kit name is capitalized and Essentials says to keep those all lower case. You also didn't specify the efficiency number after the second item.

I don't know if those kit errors are enough to break the entire config so that your other things won't work too or not...but you might as well fix them and see if that helps anything. Your welcome message is in there correctly and everything.

 

If I remember from experience, I think if something breaks in the Essentials config, the whole file config re-creates it's self to default stage and places the broken one away with a name like "config.broken.584435" don't quote me though.

Fine Yoshi pie I see you made an "efficiency:" line on the starter kit but you didn't add a number after wards, maybe add a number there or remove the word "efficiency:" and see if that might work, if not, could you please look in your console log and see if there are any errors and send them here?

 

Ive fixed it i went back to the 1.6 version

 

Fine Yoshi pie Did you download the essentials prerelease build? If so, you forgot to update bukkit.
