New map on 1.9 with old bukkit.

Hello,

When 1.9 is released and bukkit isnt updated and i reset the map.
Will the map be a 1.9 map or a 1.8?
im using mcmyadmin to remake the map.

If it isnt possible with bukkit is it then a idea to create it with vanilla minecraft
andimport it to bukkit server.

Or are they both no option and should we wait till bukkit is updated and then create a new map?

Please let me know what is the best way or maybe other suggestions.

 

A 1.8 version of Bukkit can only make 1.8 maps. If you mean, when you update to a 1.9 Bukkit will the map change to a 1.9 map? The answer is no, it will not magically change. However: every new chunk (area of land not yet generated) will be generated as if it was a 1.9 map.

What you can do to prevent a 1.8 part of the map and a 1.9 part of the map from being put next to each other is use a plugin like worldborder, and use the built-in feature to generate out a 1.8 type map to your border. That way, when 1.9 comes out, everything will still be a 1.8 map and look right.

Or, you can start a new map in 1.9.

I want to get a complete new map when 1.9 comes out.
But i was wondering if bukkit (compatible for 1.8[1337]) will create a 1.9 map.
Or do i have to wait for a new bukkit version?

 

1337 is for 1.8.1, what do you think it will generate...
