Need help setting up permissions for VNP (PEX)

Hey!
I need help setting up permissions with VanishNoPacket. (PEX)
I use the asterisk permission for me and the owners on my server, and I'd like to know exactly what the permissions should look like when disabling certain features.
First of all, I'd like to disable the effects by default, and then I'd like to remove the silentjoin node.

As far as I remember you have to do the perms like this:
- -vanish.permission
To disable them, but I am not sure.

yes ... you use - -permissions.permission to "disable" permissions

but im sure thats not your question ... and i dont know what is, because your text is not that clear on what the question is

 

I will try to clarify:
I want to turn off the effects when a player with the asterisk joins.
This can be done by denode permissions, as far as I am aware.
That's what I need help with.

I am not sure that it's called "denode", but I don't know what else to call it

I know which permissions it is, that's not the problem.
The problem is, that when I use the permissions it doesn't work.
Therefore, I'd like someone to configure them for me, so I can see just how it's supposed to be.
