My IP changes when i lost my current.... Help!

Help me as said in title i need help with my static IP. I know how to make static IP and that things using static IP program, but one day when there was storm in my city i lost my current for 1 hour. When it came back my IP changed! Help!

Disable DHCP on your router (for the external connection). this keeps your ip "sticky", meaning it still can change, but its much less likely to do so as your router will automatically connect using the IP you have defined. beware tho, as it may cause IP conflicts with your ISP if the IP you set it to is already assigned.

 

Do NOT do as Paul_VB suggest. This will make you ISP _very_ unhappy with you, and they may simply disconnect you.

If you want a static IP, pay your ISP for one, otherwise use no-ip.org or a similar service
