Inactive [MISC] illegalName v2.0 - Block Illegal Characters in usernames! [1.2.4-R1.0]

IllegalName blocks characters in usernames that minecraft can't see.
This is only good for servers in Offline-Mode or Cracked. Before players could login with a name like ÁDogÁ and all the people on the server would see Dog.
So when you went to /ban Dog It wouldn't work.
IllegalName detects these characters and stops players with them from logging onto your server.
When someone try's to join with a Illegal Character in there name, It will say "You have a illegal User Name!". The groups with the permission IllegalName.see will get a message in game saying
"<Name> was kicked for illegal character!" No longer will those pesky griefers impersonate your staff! Example: You have an admin named Hello, One of these people with an illegal Character could just login with the name ÁHelloÁ and all you would see is your Admins name "Hello"

Features:

• Blocks Illegal Characters MineCraft can't see (Such as Á¿Ü‰, ¶, © and ¾Ñ)
• Kicks players, who log on with them
• Sends a message to Specified groups, when someone is kicked because of it
• Limits UserNames to Max: 16 Letters / Min: 1
• Permissions 2x /3x / GroupManager Support

Permissions:
(Add this to all groups that you want to see the, <UserName> is kicked for having Illegal Characters!
Such as mods/admins or everyone )

Why limit usernames to 16 letters? Legitimate users on my server can't log in.

16 is the max for illegitimate accounts, no?

 

Then something is wrong with the length checking code. Legitimate users get kicked for username length reasons.

Hi, I use this plugin and it works GREAT on my offline server. I also have one thing, either increase the name limit like you said above, or add a config file where you can change the limit yourself. That would be GREAT! Otherwise, great plugin!

 

I was going to change it to 17, but isnt the limit for premium still 16?

 

yeah but the point here is i have an offline server, and about 4 of my players have names that are 17 and 18 characters, and all their things are set to them, and it will be a pain in the ass to transfer all their protections to another account. Lol. So at least like a little config file or something?

Does this also kick no-name players? Cause thats our server's problem no-name hackers joining! And then you can't kick them or ban them! (so irratating! "/ban <name>" doesnt work! Cuase you cant run the /ban command without a name

2: Any "No-name" will be replaced by , and not allowed on.

What "No-name" is, When they put letters in there name minecraft cant see,
So if they put there name as "Á¿Ü‰" it would be a "Blank Name"

This plugin stops those characters all together
So yes ^-^
