Hm.... If I knew how to do it I would. I can try.... Can I make it so they don't need to use a chest, just a command and it only works 1 time? That's the only way I really know how to do it. I am busy working on all of my other plugins... You will have to tell me the item and the amount because I don't know config files JUST yet. I can always do /cmas and it gives them the item one time.
Jahb Hey, I love this idea and I will get working on this plugin, however I can not guarantee that I will be able to do this, as I have not yet learned to use config files. Now, I am very ambitious and I will try my best to learn how to use config files with the Javascript, but the rest seems like something I can tackle. I will give you full credit for the idea, however I would like to make a small change. Instead of placing a glass block that disappears (which would cause trouble if they tried to place another block there after they placed the glass), I was thinking that I could set it up where the player sets down a chest and places a sign on it that reads: "To Santa: Place Gifts Here! [NAME]" Then, on Christmas the presents will be placed in that chest. I do not, however know how to make the Santa NPC appear, but I will try to figure it out. I can not guarantee that the Santa NPC will be done by this Christmas, but I know that finishing the plugin (without Santa) is better than not finishing it at all. If you have any other ideas, or don't like my suggestion, please let me know. KameZ
I think the chest would be slightly essential to the overall user experience as I expect players to be building christmas trees at their homes with chest under them already.
Jahb What I meant by using the chest, is that they place the chest and put a sign on it, rather than the glass block that you mentioned in the OP. However, the chest would not disappear when they place it. KameZ
Jahb I agree with KameZ it would be better this way but the only problem I see is they can place more than one chest Maybe if they place more than one chest they get coal in both for being greedy?
KameZ sorry my last post was made before I read your other one the sign seems good with me. Good luck.
Jahb I am currently pretty far along with this plugin, however I am having one issue. I do not know how to make the plugin check if it is Christmas. For you developers out there that understand what I mean, I do not know what event should be the trigger for the plugin checking the date, and I do not know how to make the plugin compare the date(MM/dd) to Christmas day (MM/dd). I believe it has something to do with the 'compareTo' method and SimpleDateFormat, but I am not sure. If anybody can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. I will give credit where due. KameZ
Working on something like this...not as feature filled, but I should have it done soon-ish, although I'm busy with finals right now. EDIT: Code is here: https://github.com/Jake0oo0/MerryChristmas
Done, It's coded. Btw im sorry jamb but it uses /Xmas. Easiest way to get it working How do I post it
timtower I tried but the link broke https://www.dropbox.com/gthbook I can code just not place download links That's why I have no plugins posted
Finished! http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/merry-christmas/ That project is currently being approved, but if you want a direct download, you can find it here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/76369034/MerryChristmas-Bukkit-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar Make feature requests on the plugin page if you must!
Read the plugin page, if you can see it? Otherwise a lot of it is different, I was kind of following my own ideas while taking some from this post too.
There's not really much "Christ" in it anymore anyway, it's just a massive commercialized shopping frenzy so every store can make enough money to profit for the next year.
Finished (I have worked hard on this plugin ) Fully automatic on minutes and seconds . Only /cmas santa: It spawns a diamond block instead of Santa on the 25th And /cmas send is not finished
