    Description:

    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    Ok well that looks good, let's see if you can get the item with this:

    Or do it in 2 steps:

    With either the two solution, the response of Script Injector is << CraftItem and on my world pops two (Because I have tested the two commands) paper lantern that I can place on the world. It's partially working ! Yes, partially... Because if I brake them, they repop on their place maybe because we haven't set the
    • DataDropped=<int>
    • IdDropped=<int>
    • QuantityDropped=<int>
    And a few seconds after, my server goes out and my client received a TimedOut error. But it's a good thing you have done.
    We (Or maybe more you because I'm not very helpful) also have to find why the /i and /give commands doesn't work.

    Oh ! And I got an answer from Nandonalt. (S)He is OK if you let him the credits. I have answer that there is now problem and I'm waiting to know which option (s)he prefers to develop the plugin. :)

    I think I've got it now. This plugin you use, that allows you to do /i, it probably also overrides the default /give command, so when you /give it actually does the same thing as /i. A while ago there were a lot of people reporting problems plugins have with mine, so I added this dirty mod, that basically adds a bukkit material called "Dummy" that has an id -1, and which all new blocks use. I never thought any plugin could know on beforehand that there is a material called "Dummy" so I thought I was fine. But it just now occurred to me that the /i plugin does this roundabout way of first getting the id, then converting it to to a Material alongside code that allows typing in the name of the material, then converting it back to an id again when creating the itemstack, and then all hell breaks lose, since the Dummy's id is -1. Try removing the /i plugin temporarily and see if /give works.

    I guess that it "repops" back because your server died and the client still believes its a alive, until a certain time client side prediction kicks in and it repops, because the server didn't respond with a "yes that's ok to break it", when the actual reason was because the server freezed. Now I just need to know why. But we are at least getting somewhere :)
    Of course Nandonalt will get the credit that is due.

    You were completely right. I have deactivated Essentials (This is it I am using. :)) and if I perform a /give server side, the paper lantern poped just right in front of me. :)
    The problem with the Essentials /give, you can bypass it or it's to the Essentials team to do something ?

    I'm not sure how to bypass it. Essentials may just have made it impossible to /give new items. Enums in java cannot be extended during runtime, so I'm out of options unless I can make a class instead that mimics it, not sure if that's workable at all in java.

    I can't help you for this type of answer. But maybe that you can contact the Essentials team to explain us what the problem is.
    If I can't use the /give or /i from Essentials to have new objects, it's not really a problem. Tomorrow, I'll try to add a "complete" paper lantern with recipe, dropping stuff and all of that. :)

    Well, the main thing that's bothering me now is that removing the lantern sometimes causes the server to appear to freeze (Its not actually freezed anywhere when I checked it with visualvm. Instead it just stops responding to client, console input but the script injector still works. It seems as if the client did something that you do with lanterns that the server couldn't handle and restored to shut its ears and eyes, which isn't very appropriate behavior. If I only knew what.

    Just updated to itemcraft 4.0 and I get an error saying it can't load plugins kslopes.jar, it was working fine before, what's the problems?

    I have tried this plugin for my own server.
    With KSlopes only it works fine.
    In the second step i used the mod MakeMyBlock to create new blocktypes for the client and bring them to smp with this plugin. (Note: MakeMyBlock has a recipe for the Block i tested)

    For the client the blocks worked... and i coded this:

    So what happens...

    The recipe from MakeMyBlock works on clientside but the server does not recognize the block (couldnt take the block out of the slot) so i give the block to myself with /i 140 (using plugin SimpleGive). I get the block (and this Dummy message apeared), placed it and the server crashes... bad...

    But then i added this recipe to the startup file:

    a=4

    Its the same recipe MakeMyBlock uses on clientside for the Block. And voila... server knows the block.. i could craft it take it - give it to me with /i - place and destroy the block.. NO server issues so far...

    Maybe this is helpful for your development:)

    No. The whole point with ItemCraft is to make use of client/server modding that you can't do with bukkit alone.

    The planes are entities that it wouldn't recognize. Also there's custom GUIs, but I have partially implemented support for them already.

    hmm strange now i removed first clientside recipe (mmb mod) -> works
    removed serverside recipe (startup.txt) -> still works wtf

    created an completly new block with mmb and added it to startup.txt without any recipe -> works

    really don´t know why the server crashed before but now it works with and without recipes. /i works too.
    (seems to be magic)

    No, I changed nothing other than the files for mmb and itemcraft that define ID of the new block and custom texture files. I do not use Essentials. For the /give i use the SimpleGive plugin.

    This happens if i use a item ID for a recipe instead of a Block ID.
    With Bock ID´s all recipes work fine.

    Oh ! I haven't seen that it was the same error than GrindGod. Sorry.
    I have also tried to add

    IdDropped=34
    QuantityDropped=1
    to my startup file for the paper lantern but the server always crashes and the lanterns repop.

    Edit : I have updated to the last version and I was able to craft a paper lantern. Nice job. :)

    Its the same issue as before. Might not be able to solve it until I get to see the Fancypack source. But try some other blocks and see if you have better luck
