JDBC keepalive (or something similar)?

    I've been looking around for a long time now, and I can't seem to figure out how to make JDBC (for MySQL) to keep the connection alive. I've read something about connection pools, but I'm not exactly sure what it is/how to create one.

    could anyone help me out?
