Question Is It Possible To Set Teams In Permissions EX/Prison Rank-up?

Hey guys, I was wondering if there was any way to add teams into PEX. For Example: A players joins the server, and types a certain command to join a certain team, and is able to rank-up (Prison Rank-up) based on the team that he/she chose. I thought about developing a custom plugin for this, but even after research, I was not sure as to whether or not this is possible. Is there a certain plugin/way to do this, or must I have to develop to a plugin to do this?
