    Version 1.0b
    • Added debugging option to help support
    Version 1.0a
    • Added comma separator between world names for multi world servers
    Version 1.0
    • Initial release

Showing as online in your sig, so I assume you sorted it out ;-)

I'm seeing the same problem on JRE6. It's entirely random.

This happens on reloads and stops. And when it does, I have to kill -9 the java proccess, losing progress/map data.

    For now, MCViewer is removed.

Can you confirm your running 1.0c?

If so I'm thinking buggy jre or buggy kernel, would need additional debug to confirm.

An updated plugin v1.0d has just been released which has a potential workaround in for what I believe is causing fix this issue. Give that a whirl.

Here's a suggestion for the banner generator: avoid appending the port to the address when it is the default (25565)

I think that would only lead to confusion tbh.

Not sure how hiding a redundant piece of info would introduce confusion: there's no port field in minecraft, only the address field, so players will type anything shown after the address label in the banner without wondering there must be something else

Various guides and stuff talk about port, was what I was thinking. With the majority of servers not using the default port, excluding it for the few that are, might confuse people.

would this work with an offline server?

No it requires an online server as it needs to query the servers, hence needs a 24/7 active connection.

Hey. i just installed this plugin but i cant get it to work. Your site doesn't find the server and i cant get a banner.
i am with fragnet.net and so i cant really do anything with the firewall or anything like that. is there any help you can give me to get this plugin to work?

You can try enabling debug, to see if its getting any packets but apart from that you're down to firewall issues so you have to speak to your host I'm afraid.

this is what i get when i restart the server.

    MinecraftViewer: v1.0d Plugin Disabled.

i have no idea what's happening.

The plugin will disable itself before the the server restarts so that message it totally normal for a restart.

It doesn't actually say starting up again or anything. and i just spoke to my support from my hoster and they said its nothing on their side but it seems weird that when making a banner it times out so fast.

If it doesn't say starting up it sounds like your bukkit install is broken but that would be very strange can you http://pastebin.org the entire server.log from startup.

    Sgt_Green

ok i reloaded the plugin and it seems to have started up properly
this is what it has said:
    MinecraftViewer: registerSocket: java.net.DatagramSocket@25923da6
    MinecraftViewer: v1.0d Plugin Enabled.
MinecraftViewer: Query running on <my server ip address + port>

but i went a checked on the website and it still times out in less then a sec.

So its running fine its just not seeing packets from the query, this means its a firewall issue.

It shouldn't be. they told me it should be working because they have opened the port. there is nothing they can do on this side because they have it allowed through the fire wall and i cant do anything.

I suspect they have either opened the wrong port or more likely the wrong protocol, MinecraftViewer uses UDP not TCP like the main server.

    Trumple

I have a server running on port (lets say 8500)
But, when I enter the port details it has to match the port I specified in the Minecraft Viewer config (lets say 8501). It then makes the banner display the port of the plugin, not the server. So, people try to connect to 8501 which is incorrect
How can I get around this??
    Thanks

Dont change the port, leave it the same as the server port.

I'm assuming this is the same as:
    Code:
    15:02:50 [INFO] [MinecraftViewer] registerSocket: java.net.DatagramSocket@46d0c011
I don't know what IKVM is, however, I am using JDK 1.7.0 to increase performance on my server.

  29. Offline

    Steve Member

Nope 1.7.0 should be fine IKVM is a .Net implementation of the JRE.

Most likely just another firewall issue.

Hmm... I didn't even do anything and it started working again.... Oh well.
