I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

I personally use worldedit as a building tool for creating both small *and* large projects, and would love to have it logged either way. I'm used to having upwards of 10GB DB's (bigbrother) so logblock wouldn't really give me trouble (currently only sitting at about 650mb after a week of usage)

    Without chestlogging that's not possible.
    Have you installed BukkitContrib?

    I don't believe so.
But I am able to see some chest access.. like player took from chest, etc...

Get what im saying? I just want to see more, or who took from it. >.< i just find its not telling me much at all...

The best thing do to in my mind would be to get with them to make logblock have the *ability* to log worldedit, but have it as an option in the config (default disabled)

Sounds like an older BukkitContrib version.
    Download the lastest version:

Well, it's hard to get all action from outside. WE has to implement it (or at least someone has to make a fork).

Ok I really love this plugin, and it works great!!! But I thought that the logkills was supposed to log who killed who. If it does, It is not logging it. If it doesn't,.. it should.

I updated all my stuff, but I still have this problem:

The user has full access to the database and normal logblock functions work just fine.

I looked through the last 3 pages and didn't see this error, so I figured I'd post it. It is like dompie (page 72), but I'm not sure how similar.

    Who is "they"?
Year, the events changed a bit in last time. I'm working on it, together with web kill stats.
You need to change to owner of the dump folder to that user that runs the mysql server.
If you've a remote mysql server that won't work at all, and you've to disable dumpDeletedLog.
That bug got fixed with last version.

The worldedit team... I posted the irc log twice lol

Ah gotcha, it's a remote server.

    --

Will we ever get to see what the errors actually are? I hate having a rollback or redo that doesn't entirely complete and won't tell me why.

Also, with redo I get alot of holes from leaves... do I need to turn on leaf decay logging to prevent that in the future?

Great plugin! How far back does it log? Can you change it?

    I planning to to that.
The second one is a caused by logging the leaves decay flag. Will fix that.
    Default: Forever.
    But you've keepLogDays to adjust

And BukkitContrib is only an extended api, so there is not much to show :D

DiddiZ, could you make the player kill log also include the coords of where they were killed (if possible).

If it does already, call me a noob and I'll go read the docs some more lol.

You can use the parameter ASC, but that doesn't work when there are more than 15 log entries ...
Hm, current structure doesn't support that, don't know whether it's worth to change it.

man, i have been trying to get this to work for 2 days now...
im using cb860 but i cannot get logblock to connecto to the database.
im running a db localy on ubuntu 10.04 with xampp.
    (but im new to ubuntu/linux)

    the error is the following:

    [LogBlock] Connecting to logblockuser@jdbc:mysql://localhost:<port>/logblock...
2011-06-24 01:20:46 [SEVERE] [LogBlock] Error while fetching connection

The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server.
    Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

and yes i have set the port i entered (not the default one) open/forwarded in my router(to be sure even when its localhost), and chekked it dozens of times.

i get the part connection refused, and also why it doesnt work according to the FAQ
but i have checked the msql info i used inside the config.yml like 10 times it is correct!
    but it wont connect watsofreakingever...

i would really apriciate it if anyone with maybe ubuntu/linux installation experiance would like to help me out (maybe msn or anything)...

I'm a moderator on a server that uses your plugin. While dealing with a theft from a double-chest, I noticed something a little too coincidental for me to dismiss. This screenie was taken from one side of the chest:

This is from the other side of the chest:

If you look closely, you'll notice that two different users are shown to have taken the exact same items at the exact same time from the two different sides of the double-chest.

I thought it odd. It may be a server clock issue or it may be a bug. Sorry if the bug's already been reported or the problem is known... I'm lazy and didn't check :p

    LB works with cb #928

It's caused by two players opening the same chest at the same time. I'll figure out a workaround.
