I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)

    How goes 1.0's development?
  5. Offline

Sometimes the client crashs, atm no clue why
    Good :D
Still to do: "/lb clearlog <params>" and chestlogging

    LogBlock v1.00 Developement News:
    "/lb clearlog <params>" works:
It makes you able to delete log ingame (when you've the permissions :D) and from console
    param "before" works:
make you able to select log before a given date or timespan
And: time, since and before params now also accept the BB time format ("5d3h17m") besides the LB format ("5 minutes")

I have a question regarding TNT explosions and fire rollback.

To test this mod, I laid 8 blocks of TNT and detonated them all around the same time to simulate a major griefing event. When I went to rollback the player actions across the full area (block radius of 50 or so), it encountered a few blacklists and only restored maybe 20 blocks. I couldn't tell if this was an error with my LogBlock, an SQL mishap, or what. Any suggestions on what might've went wrong? Can't find the logs as this was a few days ago.

Also, I tried rolling back a burned-down tree. The rollback command took 3 repeated inputs to restore the tree. Is this normal behavior?

Can't remember if I rolled back a player's actions or TNT/Fire as the player... but in either case, LogBlock was restoring things kind of wonkily. Am I doing something wrong or overloading the mod?

Out of the blue, I'm getting this:

This worked until I added "- PixelLand"

And now it doesn't work even when I remove "- PixelLand"

I've even tried adding 4 spaces in correct .yml syntax, but that does work either.

When the count is increasing disable "consumer.useBukkitScheduler" else lower "consumer.delayBetweenRuns"
The blacklist collisions are the tnt blocks, and when you blow up a large area it can take a while for the blocks to come into db. You can speed this up, using "/lb savequeue".
    You should add a table " - lb-pixelland":
    - lb-main
    - lb-pixelland
    - lb-hell
    - MCPlayground
    - PixelLand
    - nether
  10. Hello,
I've seen this being reported but haven't found any solutions to this
2011-05-20 14:08:33 [SEVERE] [LogBlock Consumer] Failed to get generated keys
Please, point me in the right direction.
I hate to see any errors in the log, and this one is SEVERE which freaks me out :)

ATM the cause is unknown ...
Please tell me about your setup (remote/local mysql server etc)
  12. Fresh setup, local sql. This started popping up randomly from the very beginning. Not sure what else to say.
  13. Offline

Hm, as it only affects signtext/chestaccess logging, you could disable it.
    What mysql version?

    LB v1.00 Developement News:
    Rollback/Redo confirmation works
    ClearLog question after rollbacks works

    Still todo:

Looks like I'll get it in time (unusual, I know :D)

Is there a way to find out who triggered a creeper?

Also, sorry if this is a stupid question, is there a list of permission nodes somewhere?
nevermind, I just did 'logblock.*' :)
  17. Offline

Atm no. I'll check wether is possible to the that in the entity explode event.

    EDIT: It's possible.
But I'm not sure how to implement. I could log all creeper explosions as the players who triggered them, but in that case you wouldn't able to rollback via player creeper, only via the player. (No "/lb rollback player creeper 99 days")
If there is still an interest, I'll add an option for that.

No, but there are some free hosters like db4free.
Does it spam queue overloaded messages to console?
